Goonj Join Hands With 3rd Festival of Cell Phone Cinema




Goonj, a voluntary association born at Marwah Studios by the young enthusiastic school and college students of different parts of the country to spread the message of peace all over the India and across its boundaries. “We are young but we have vision, we may not have resources but we have enthusiasm, we want to carry the message of peace through media as well” said Mehul Mittra the young president of this new born organization while welcoming the guest of the day .

I have the pleasure to light the lamp on the first day of this organization, I pray that this light of peace may spread all over the World” said Sandeep Marwah, president of Marwah Studios who also invite all the youngsters to join 3rd International festival of Cell Phone Cinema by presenting stills or movies pertaining to subject Peace and Love. “We can bring in Love and Peace to the community by reminding people the importance and need for the same.” said H.E. “What Gautam Budha and Mahatama Gandhi wanted the same service we have to provide to the nation through this organization Goonj, it may take time but one day everybody will realize the importance of this organization.” said Vipul Mittra, Secretary Tourism, Government of Gujrat. “I am ready to organize a musical program to highlight this idea.” said D.J.Narayan Director of song and drama division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.

Any Sincere Efforts Will Never Go Waist-Marwah At AAFT

“Any sincere efforts into learning and education can never go waste” said Sandeep Marwah, the President of Marwah Studios while talking to the passing out students of 65th batch of AAFT Asian Academy of Film and Television on the day of Convocation at Marwah Studios who all were more than excited to receive their diploma of World repute.

“We have given you the best as far as your ambience, infrastructure, Equipment, curriculum, management, workshops, interactions, industry interface, visits, festivals, productions, campus interviews, grooming and other things are concerned, now its your chance to prove your learning and its utilization in the industry” added Marwah.

“More than 500 hours of education and training in each discipline in short term courses and 1800 hrs in one year can make you a good start in the film and TV industry” said R.K.Singh the former Engineer in Chief, Doordarshan. “We will be pleased to see your names in the credit list of TV programs and feature films that will be our reward” said Harshvardhan, the Course Director of AAFT.

“We welcome you to the main stream industry and ask you to join us in the field you prefer to be in” said Gurbir Garewal the writer director of feature film Mannat and Coffee House. “This is the only institution which provides films to each and every acting student even before they leave the institute” said Satish Anand the great dramatist and national award winner.

Global Yog Alliance Formed

The federation of yoga organizations in India and abroad join hands together to form an international body ‘Global Yog Alliance’ under the leadership of Yogshiromani Dr. Gopalji who has brought three important parts of the society that is Yog, Spirituality and religion, Film, TV and Media together for the first time on the same platform.

The Alliance has decided to go ahead with a national conference on Role of Yog, Religion and Media for the Peace in the World on 28th of December 2009.

Asian School of Media Studies Celebrated 5th Festival of Short Films




The Annual program of festival of short films was celebrated with great pomp and show.
“This is the best way not only to encourage students of the college but also to market their product” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios while inaugurating the 5th festival of short films directed by the students of ASMS.

The lamp was lighted by the students of ASMS breaking all the old traditions of the college. “We believe that students should be able to write, shoot, direct and edit their own programs when they are out of the institution” said Harshvardhan, vice President of ASMS. “We are keen in developing all facilities within campus so that our student of Cinema, Journalism, Multimedia and Electronic Media not only learn the best but give the best to industry” said R.K. Singh Dean ASMS.

“No media person can be successful unless he is disciplined himself” said Rahul Sehgal the associate dean of Cinema. “We are here to look after the needs of students who have been provided World Class infrastructure to direct these films” added A.K.Goorah, the HOD Cinematography. The Students of all streams were present to appreciate the films. The program was well covered by Radio Noida 107.4FM.

Indian Film Industry Is Now Global-Focus 2009

3rd Global Summit on Entertainment and Media Focus 2009 of Assocham came to the conclusion that we may be global as far as Indian Film Industry is concerned but still we have to take many measures to be known to rest of the world. Conducting and handling the 3rd seminar of the first day, S.M.Khan, the Director of Directorate of Film festivals of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India said “to attract foreign film makers into our festivals Government of India has announced a prize for 40 lacs for the best film, which is highest in the World. The seminar was attended by Madhur Bhandarkar, Ashok Pandit, Mukesh Tyagi, Nevllie Tuli, Hiren Gada, Geetanjali Sehgal and known media personality Sandeep Marwah.

The show stopper was Sandeep Marwah who alone with great enthusiasm discarded the views of the other speakers who were not earlier convinced that Indian films and entertainment industry is now Global. Relating poetry to the current situation he won the applause of the audience to maximum.

"We need to improve a lot on our marketing techniques" said Madhur Bhandrakar, "We are behind as far as our subjects are concerned" said Ashok Pandit. "We still have to nourish our talent to an international standard" said Mukesh Tyagi. "Even after all these drawback our films are watched by two sixth of the World, Indian songs are accepted every where, Industry is still growing, we are still getting awards in every festival and competitions, Indian Films are watched with great interest ,Indian artist are appreciated" said Sandeep Marwah while giving ample current examples. Later Sujata Dev paid vote of thanks to the panelist.

3rd International Festival Of Cell Phone Cinema 2010 Announced




International film and television club along with Asian Academy of Film and Television AAFT have decided to go ahead with the third International festival of mobile cinema at Marwah Studios in the third week of January 2010 informed Sandeep Marwah, the festival president.
“We are ready for the show again, idea is to promote young talent who are keen in expressing them selves through this cheapest mode of cinema that is mobile.” said Marwah announcing 3rd festival. There will be three categories of fiction and music video, reality or electronic media and still image. The total prize money will be around 2000 US dollars.
There are few rules of the competition, all entries to be created using a mobile phone. The entries should be original and not infringe on any copy right law. All work to be either uploaded on batchbuzz.com or the body of work can be sent on CD at the festival office—Marwah Studio, FC 14/15, Film City, Sector 16A, Noida 201301,U.P., India. The decision of the festival president will be final and binding to all the participants of cell phone cinema festival.
The film entries received from various countries will be judged by an international jury in New Delhi and the result for the 3 winner of the Cell Phone Cinema festival will be announced later .The list of the film entries, qualified for the finals, will be disclosed through the Internet.

AAFT Join Hands With First Pravasi Film Festival


The capital is set to host Pravasi Film Festival 2010 Jan 3-6 next year. Films made by Indians living abroad or made outside the country will be showcased at the fest in its first edition. President of Mauritius Sir Anerood Jugnauth unveiled the awards that will be given away at the festival. “I am proud to be associated with this event” said the President of the Republic of Mauritius.
It is being organised by the international bi-lingual monthly Pravasi Today in collaboration with the India Habitat Centre (IHC) with the support of the Mauritius High Commission in India and Asian Academy Of Film and Television (AAFT). Around 20 films will be screened at the gala including ‘Monsoon Wedding’, ‘New York’, ‘99′, ‘The President Is Coming’ and ‘Inner World of Shah Rukh Khan’.
“Films made by Yash Chopra and Sippy Productions will also be screened during the festival .Cinema personalities like Sharmila Tagore, Adhoor Gopalakrishan, Sohal Ali Khan, Amrita Rao, Prakash Jha, Karan Razdan, and Satish Kaushik are expected to attend the four-day event” informed Sandeep Marwah, the president of Asian Academy of Film And Television. “We will give complete media and technical support to the festival” Marwah added.
The first ever Pravasi Film Festival will honour veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey with the lifetime achievement award for his contribution to cinema, said Anil Joshi, the Festival Director.
We are working mainly on the identity issues of the diaspora this year.
