New Media Policies Were Discussed During 9th Global Festival of Journalism

New Delhi: “I extend my heartiest congratulations to ICMEI and Sandeep Marwah on the successful launching of 9th Global Festival of Journalism 2021. It is celebration of journalism. I am impressed by this most exclusive kind of festival meant to bring love, peace and unity through journalism,” said H.E. Hidayat Abdul Hamid High Commissioner of Malaysia to India in a message sent for the international event.

“The only constant thing in this world is The Change. Media had to change its ways, means, style, methods because of pandemic. Whereas the response was equally good and people of this earth molded themselves in these last eleven months of Pandemic. This year we have learned ample new things, changed our habits and the whole thinking process has brought the people of this world close to each other,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and 9th GFJN.

“Sometimes the public seeks opinion and analysis of complicated issues. Providing such opinions and analysis is another important function performed by the media. The evolution of the media has been fraught with concerns and problems. Accusations of mind control, bias, and poor quality have been thrown at the media on a regular basis. Yet the growth of communications technology allows people today to find more information more easily than any previous generation,” initiated Abdul Mohd. Dewale President of Africa Asia Scholars Global Network, UK.

 “Never before in human history has it been possible to communicate so quickly during a pandemic, social media platforms have been a key piece for the dissemination of information; however, there are multiple advantages and disadvantages that must be considered. Responsible use of these tools can help quickly disseminate important new information, relevant new scientific findings, share diagnostic, treatment, and follow up protocols, as well as compare different approaches globally, removing geographic boundaries for the first time in history,” added Dr. Yogendra Narain Chancellor Hemvati Nandan Bhaguna University.

During the session 4th Edition of Mahatma Gandhi National Award for journalism were also presented to Lord Remy Ranger, Pradeep Sardana, Salma Sultan and Vinod Agnihotri who all have contributed enough to Gandhism in India and abroad.

Dr. A. K.Rastogi Editor in Chief of Avishkar Media, Bharti Dubey of Times of India, Renzu Shah Author and Journalist from Kashmir, Sushant Pathak from Australia and  Gaurav Gupta Charter President of Lions Club also spoke on the subject of new policies on new Media.

New Delhi: Gandhism is a body of ideas that describes the inspiration, vision, and the life work of Mohandas Gandhi i. It is particularly associated with his contributions to the idea of nonviolent resistance. The two pillars of Gandhism are truth and nonviolence. On the basis of this ideology Marwah Studios in association with International Journalism Centre constituted an National Award after the name of Mahatma Gandhi to be presented to those who have extended this thinking through journalism or. otherwise in India and abroad said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of the festival.

Four names were selected this time for the most prestigious and popular 4th edition of Mahatma Gandhi National Award for Journalism. The awards were presented to most experienced Lord Remy Ranger Member of the House of Lords British Parliament U.K., the veteran journalist of the country including Salma Sultan one time most popular news reader on Doordarshan, Vinod Agnihotri now the group advisor to Amar Ujala and Pradeep Sardana a veteran journalist now freelancer who has worked for 40 years in art and culture.

“Mahatma Gandhi is revered the world over as one of history’s most transformative and inspirational figure. Throughout his life in South Africa and India, Gandhi was a fearless campaigner for the rights and dignity of all people, whose constant and unwavering promotion of non-violence as a tool to win over hearts and minds has forever left its mark on the world,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah also President of Marwah Studios.

All the veterans and awardees Salma Sultan, Lord Remy Ranger, Pradeep Sardana and Vinod Agnihotri narrated the silent features of their life time story, their struggle, professional life and motivated the large international audience listening to them very carefully.

Norms and Ethics of Journalism Revised at 9th Global Festival of Journalism

New Delhi: “So while various codes may have some differences, most share common elements including the principles of truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness, and public accountability,  as these apply to the acquisition of newsworthy information and its subsequent dissemination to the public,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios initiating the new session on norm and ethics of journalism on the third day of 9th Global Festival of Journalism designed by IJC- International Journalism Centre.

“Some journalistic codes of ethics, notably some European codes, also include a concern with discriminatory  references in news based on race, religion, sexual orientation,  , and physical or mental disabilities. The Parliamentary Assembly of the council of Europe  approved (in 1993) Resolution  on the Ethics of Journalism, which recommends that journalists respect the presumption of innocence, in particular in cases that are still sub judice,” added Emile Mwepesi Second Counsellor High Commission of Rwanda.

 Komal Nahata senior journalist and film critic emphasised on five major points including Honesty, Independence and objectivity, Fairness, diligence and accountability. He very well explained his points with examples.

New Delhi: “I on behalf of ICMEI and complete media & entertainment industry and art & culture fraternity extend my heartiest congratulations to H.E. Mr. Siniša Pavić, Ambassador – Charge d`Affaires a.i. of Serbia to India and people of Serbia on the auspicious day of  their National Day which falls on 15th February,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry.

15th February is a holiday and  celebrated in Serbia  to commemorate the outbreak of the First Serbian Uprising in 1804, which evolved into the Serbian Revolution  against Ottoman rule. The revolution ultimately resulted in the recognition of Serbia’s National by the Ottoman Empire (formally in 1817, de jure in 1830).

On the same day in 1835, during the rule of Milos Abrenovic, the first modernSerbian constitution  was adopted in Kragujevac, known as the Sretenje Constitution or Candlemas  Constitution.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah has wonderful relations with the two of the popular institutions of Serbia namely International Roma  Cultural University Belgrade and The Centre of Roma Studies and he has been honoured Doctorate from both the institutions informed Marwah.

India-Iran relations span centuries marked by meaningful interactions. The two countries shared a border till 1947 and share several common features in their language, culture and traditions. Both South Asia and the Persian Gulf have strong commercial, energy, cultural and people-to-people links.

The Embassy of Iran and ICMEI have been conducting large numbers of cultural events to develop and promote relation between the two countries. “We are proud that we have completed thirty years in media and Marwah Studios has constituted this new award-International Award For Excellence In Journalism for all those who all have done extremely well in the profession of journalism, presentation and documentary film making,” added Marwah.

New Delhi: Renowned film personality and educationist Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry honoured by H.E. Mrs Lineo Irene Mabusuela High Commissioner of the Kingdom of Lesotho to India at the High commission on the completion of three years of being chair of Indo Lesotho Film And Cultural Forum.

New Delhi: The only and the most prestigious organization in Public Relations- Public Relations Society of India honored Dr. Sandeep Marwah with the PRSI Leadership National Award in the gracious presence of Hon. Baby Rani Maurya The Governor of State of Uttaranchal and Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank Hon. Union Minister for Education Government of India.

Dr. Ajit Pathak thanked all the 3000 members in 30 chapters all over India. He read the message of Shri M. New Delhi: There is a bombardment of information from all over. It is sometimes difficult to handle so much of sound and visuals presented to you via digital and traditional media. In between you are also feed with fake news. It is important to know what fake news is all about. Any false or misleading content presented as news and communicated in formats spanning spoken, written, printed, electronic, and digital communication is called fake news,” explained Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios in a webinar on Fake News on the second day of 9th Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2021

“The availability to express yourself on social media has raised the level of fake news be it a Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or blogs. You actually start believing in these news,” said Suniel Parashar senior journalist & PR Consultant.

“Fake news can reduce the impact of real news by competing with it. It also has the potential to undermine trust in serious media coverage The term has at times been used to cast doubt upon legitimate news,” added Anoop Bose Broadcaster &  Senior Lawyer of Supreme Court. “Fake News have no basis in fact, but are presented as being factually accurate. It also refers to stories that are fabricated that obtain little to no verifiable facts,” said Onkeshwar Pandey CEO & Editor in Chief New Observer Post.

Arvind Kumar Singh Senior Journalist Rajya Sabha Television identifies seven types of fake news-satire or parody, false connection, misleading content, false context, impostor content, made-up sources, manipulated content and fabricated content. Mumbai: Renowned film producer of short films Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts, the first film university of the Country, has been renominated to the executive body of Film Federation of India -the mother body of Cinema in the country.

Sandeep Marwah has created seven World records in films, television and media. He is the founder of Noida Film City and trainer to 19000 media professionals hailing from 145 countries of the World. Marwah has been honoured with honorary doctorates many times from different Universities. He has also been titled Best Citizen of India by The Scouts Guides Organization. Recently he has been appointed as National Chairman of Media And Entertainment Committee of BIS Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Government of India.

Shri S. Thanu from South India is the new President of Film Federation of India. Shri Firdausul Hasan, Shri C. Kalyan, Shri T. P. Aggarwal, Shri L. Suresh, Shri Nitin N. Datar, Shri N. M. Raipur: One of the biggest achievements of 9th Global Festival of Journalism 2021 is the launching of new radio station under the name and title of radioraipur.fm on the second day of the festival -13th February, celebrated as World Radio Day.

New Delhi: A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and High Commission of Rwanda in India to develop and promote people to people relations through art and culture in India and Rwanda.

“It is a historical day that first ever arrangements of this kind has been executed between India and Rwanda where films, television, media, art, culture, environment, skill development, fashion, design, hospitality and tourism of both the countries will be promoted together under Indo Rwanda Film And Cultural Forum,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI and nominated Chair for Indo Rwanda Film And Cultural Forum while signing the memorandum.

“India and Rwanda are best friends. We are confident that we both together will be able to achieve our mission of bringing two countries much closer to each other under cultural diplomacy. Panaji: Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism reached Goa with small delegation to study hospitality and tourism industry after the massive effect of Pandemics on this industry.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah personally visited different locations, tourist spots, hotels and restaurants to study the aftereffects of Pandemic. He was there at Vasco De Gama Airport, Panaji the Capital, Morjim, Anjuna, Assagoa, Sangolda, Canacona, Kundai and many interesting creative places converted into restaurant etc.

“I am amazed to see the excitement of the tourists who all were in Goa for many reasons like it is less effected by Pandemic, there is ample locations close to nature, the sea and massive vegetation, the culture itself was less effected by pandemic. The relaxations by the Government gave enough confidence to the   tourists. Norms were strictly followed at airport and government offices etc. were few of the reasons for people preferring Goa even at this sensitive time,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah expressing to press.

AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism can also plan a trip to Goa after a while when situation is little better. Students can learn a lot in this kind of situation too.
