Noida: AAFT received high appreciation from Ediza Jiménez, Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of Panama, during her recent visit to Marwah Studios at Film City, Noida. The visit was organized to explore and strengthen avenues of cooperation in media education, cultural exchange, film, television, and creative industries between India and Panama.

During her visit, Ediza Jiménez was given an extensive tour of the world-renowned Marwah Studios and AAFT campus, where she interacted with faculty members, students, and administrators. Spearheaded by the Fashion Committee of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) and supported by the AAFT School of Fashion and Design and AAFT School of Interior Designing, this year’s edition featured: 200+ top designers, 550 original fashion creations, 125 creative interior installations, 9 fashion shows, 90 runway rounds, 6 exhibitions, and 9 international culinary showcases

The festival was broadcast live on MSTV, Radio Noida, and covered by over 600 international media outlets.

The Indo-Panama Fashion Showcase was a standout segment, presenting a serene yet striking collection inspired by the beaches and breezes of Panama. The line fused handcrafted macramé fabrics, breezy silhouettes, and a soothing blue ombré palette reminiscent of the ocean. It embodied relaxed luxury and coastal elegance, designed for the modern wanderer and sunseeker. The garments balanced traditional craftsmanship with contemporary beachwear aesthetics, evoking timeless beauty and effortless sophistication.

Adding depth to the cultural presentation, a furniture piece inspired by Panama was also on display—merging tropical textures, nautical elements, and sleek modern design. It captured the essence of Panamanian architecture and artisanal design sensibilities.

Global Fashion Week Noida 2024 Hosts Vibrant Food Festival at AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism

Noida, India – The AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism recently hosted a grand food festival as part of the Global Fashion Week Noida 2024. The event featured an impressive array of cuisines from around the world, showcasing the culinary talents of the students.

The Second Session of the food festival was inaugurated by H.E. Yasiel Burrillo, Ambassador of Panama to India, and Aji Fatoumatta Joof, First Secretary of The Gambia High Commission. The colorful display of international flags created an inviting atmosphere, drawing many attendees from the concurrent fashion show to join the festivities.

Ambassador Yasiel Burrillo expressed her admiration, stating, “I am impressed by the dishes from Panama. I must say that the students of AAFT have done well.” Her sentiments were echoed by Aji Fatoumatta Joof, who remarked, “I was not expecting food from Gambia; it is totally a surprise for me. I must congratulate Dr. Marwah for his unique idea of bringing the food festival close to fashion week.”

Noida: The 16th edition of the Global Film Festival Noida (GFFN) witnessed a groundbreaking seminar, “Growing Importance of Women in Global Cinema,” held at Marwah Studios. Festival President and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media & Arts, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, set the stage for an enlightening discourse on the evolving role of women in the film industry.

The esteemed guests for the seminar included  Ambassador of Panama H.E. Yaseil Burillo, Renowned Producer Mr. Boney Kapoor, Member of Parliament Lok Sabha Jagannath Sarkar, Renowned Makeup Artist Divya Behl, Social Media Blogger  Pavleen Gujral, Innovative Speaker Amrit Kumar Dev, Renowned Director  Soham Sham, Director of NSD Chittranjan Tripathy, Music Composer Abraham Kumar, and Festival Director Ashok Tyagi.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah opened the seminar by emphasizing the transformative power of films, citing the selection of 18 films from 18 diverse countries during GFFN 2023 as an enlightening experience akin to a comprehensive course in art and culture. Makeup Artist Divya Behl shared her inspiring journey from challenging beginnings to representing India at Cannes Fashion Week, exemplifying resilience and creativity.

Influencer Pavleen Gujral praised the evolving landscape of the film industry, acknowledging the increased participation of women in Bollywood. Innovative Speaker Mr. Amrit Kumar Dev stressed the importance of nurturing talent, especially among female students, emphasizing the need for inclusivity.

Director Soham Sham shared his experiences with influential actresses, providing insights into the changing dynamics of the film industry. Actor Mr. Chittranjan Tripathi drew parallels between realistic acting and feminine entities from the Natyashastra, enriching the discourse with artistic perspectives.

Ambassador of Panama H.E. Yaseil Burillo addressed the growing presence of women in the Indian cinema industry, while MP Jagannath Sarkar highlighted women’s contributions to “Natya kala,” urging cinema to portray women as heroes.

On this momentous occasion, the newsletter “CineFiesta” was released by the dignitaries, prepared by the students of AAFT School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The event also featured the launch of Mr. Soham Shah’s book, ‘Blood Moon,’ adding a literary dimension to the celebration of women in global cinema.
