Redolent of the great times at the Asian School of Media Studies, each
student of the last batch and the
current one lit an earthen lamp on
arrival at the ‘Diya ceremony’ held in
their honor at the campus here
this evening. This was the time when the students were the distinguished guests
and were termed as the ambassadors of their alma mater to carry the light of
academic illumination into their professional career.
The ASMS Rhythm created magic with its medley of Hindi film
songs which brought the zing in the function with some students tapping their
feet and swaying themselves with the beat of the drummer. The band comprised
Shresth Saha, Sumit Raina, Neelkanth Pathak, Vivek Massey and Tushaar Majumdar.
The function, marking the
thanksgiving of ASMS and the new voyage of the students, ended up in a sumptuous dinner
spread-over which the students and the teachers were seen in animated
conversations recalling the great
moments of the past days .
Asian Education Group President,
Sandeep Marwah showered praises of goodness on the students and said that they
had become part of the ASMS family. “ Go and conquer the world, it’s at your
feet and always fare well in life, this is my short prayer for you all, ” he
added to a resounding applause in a crescendo which went louder when he recited a couplet
which has become almost a signature in his speeches.
Former governor of Assam and
Chief Guest Syed Sibtey Razi called upon the students to emulate the great
ideals of eminent personalities and contribute their creative work towards the
betterment of the society.
Addressing the gathering, ASMS
Director-General Dr. A.K. Srivastava said that it was a proud moment for the teaching
faculty that its students were on the threshold of settling down in their careers
while some had grabbed covetous jobs in television and film production houses
and newspapers.
Other guests of honour present
included former V-C Dr. V.K. Goswami, Chairman Climate and Environment Committee ICMEI Dr. K.D. Gupta,
film personality and director Col. Kapoor and
Head India IECEN- Polytechnic
University of Milan Pankaj Gupta.
