Dr. Sandeep Marwah Extends Congratulations to the Dominican Republic on Independence Day

New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), on behalf of the media and entertainment industry and the art and culture fraternity of India, extended his heartiest congratulations to His Excellency Mr. Francisco Manuel Compres Hernandez, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to India, and to the people of the Dominican Republic on the proud occasion of Independence Day, celebrated on 27th February.

Dr. Marwah conveyed his warm wishes for peace, prosperity, and continued development to the Dominican Republic and acknowledged the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between India and the Caribbean nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Marwah said, “Cultural diplomacy is a powerful bridge between nations. Through films, media, art, and cultural exchanges, we can further enhance understanding and friendship between India and the Dominican Republic.”

He also expressed ICMEI’s keen interest in promoting collaboration through film festivals, cultural forums, academic partnerships, and joint creative initiatives that encourage people-to-people contact and mutual growth.

Dr. Marwah wished His Excellency Francisco Manuel Compres Hernandez great success in his diplomatic mission and extended sincere greetings to the people of the Dominican Republic on their Independence Day.

Strengthening Indo-Dominican Republic Relations Through Cultural Diplomacy

Noida: On this significant occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI, extended his warmest congratulations to His Excellency David Emmanuel Puig Buchel, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, and the people of the Dominican Republic, as they celebrated their Independence Day on 27th February.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Marwah highlighted the power of cultural exchange and creative cooperation in bringing nations closer.

“India and the Dominican Republic share a vibrant connection through art, culture, and education. Our two nations stand together in promoting artistic expression, cinematic collaborations, and meaningful cross-cultural dialogue. Through initiatives like the Indo-Dominican Republic Film and Cultural Forum, we aim to create a strong bridge between our creative industries,” said Dr. Marwah.

The Indo-Dominican Republic Film and Cultural Forum, an initiative under ICMEI, has been instrumental in enhancing film and cultural partnerships between India and the Dominican Republic. The forum actively promotes joint film projects, artistic exchanges, and student collaborations, contributing to mutual cultural appreciation and deeper bilateral ties.

The event at ICMEI Headquarters featured discussions on Indo-Dominican cultural cooperation, artistic performances, and future strategies for strengthening media collaborations. The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment to fostering Indo-Dominican relations through film, art, and culture, paving the way for long-term creative and diplomatic partnerships.

Independence Day of Dominican Republic Celebrated at ICMEI


National Day Dominican Republic Celebrated at Marwah Studios


Noida: “We are happy that we are already dealing with the country Dominican Republic and have created a committee on this country in ICMEI. Today we feel proud to celebrate the national day of Dominican Republic which falls on 27th February,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry.

A poster was launched to mark respect to the National Day of Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic and India signed a bilateral agreement on cultural co-operation in August 2012. Indian food festivals were held in Santo Domingo in October 2013, and in March and October 2014. DR Television broadcast an Indian film festival during April 2014. 

As of January 2016, about 50 Indian citizens and people of Indian origin reside in the Dominican Republic. They are employed as businessmen, engineers, and software experts. There are also students at medical colleges and representatives of Indian companies.

Satya Sai Baba of Putthaparthy has some followers in the Dominican Republic. A large number of Dominican visitors to India are followers of Sai Baba. Soon a formal inauguration will take place to open Indo Dominican Republic Film And Cultural Forum at ICMEI.
