International Day against Nuclear Test Discussions At WPDRF

United Nations General Assembly declared 29 August the International Day against Nuclear Tests by unanimously adopting resolution .The resolution calls for increasing awareness and education about the effects of nuclear weapon test explosions or any other nuclear explosions and the need for their cessation as one of the means of achieving the goal of a nuclear-weapon-free world. ”The Day is meant to galvanize the United Nations, Member States, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, youth networks and the media to inform, educate and advocate the necessity of banning nuclear weapon tests as a valuable step towards achieving a safer world” said Sandeep Marwah President of World Peace Development And Research Foundation. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has stated with great clarity: “A world free of nuclear weapons would be a global public good of the highest order” A special talk was organized to brief the heads of all the departments of Marwah Studios related to print, Radio, Television, Cinema, Events and education.

World Humanitarian Day Celebrated At WPDRF

“There is no stamp of religion nor caste on the baby when he is born to mother, we, with our own wish, decide to divide the human beings into different categories but the reality is that we have one religion and that is humanity” said Sandeep Marwah President of World Peace Development and Research Foundation on the celebration of Humanitarian Day at Marwah Studios. World Humanitarian Day is a time to recognize those who face danger and adversity in order to help others. The day was designated by the General Assembly to coincide with the anniversary of the 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq, which killed 22 UN staff. Every day humanitarian aid workers help millions of people around the world, regardless of who they are and where they are. 100 Years of Cinema Celebrated At PHD With Pomp And Show

Feature film Raja Harish Chandra, Aradhana, Manthan, Lahore and I Am were screened at PHD house as a tribute to Indian Cinema on the occasion of celebration of 100 years of Cinema for the large number of enthusiastic ordinance on Saturday. “I pay my salute to all the film makers of the industry who have brought the industry to this height & level from where we can fly to any stage, sky is the limit” said Sandeep Marwah Chairperson of Entertainment and Media committee of PHD Chamber of commerce The program was inaugurated by the renowned screen writer and director, Dadasaheb Phalke Award Winner Shyam Benegal, all time favorite Sharmila Tagore, National Award winner Actor Farouq Sheikh and this year best film award winner Sanjay Suri. “we are indebted to all the dignities who have added a lot of strength to the program with their presence” stated Sandeep Somany President of PHD. 100 Years Of Cinema Celebration At PHDCCI

The Entertainment and Media committee of PHD Chamber of Commerce in association with Directorate of Film festival, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and Marwah Studios-a creative enterprises, planned a celebration of 100 years of Cinema at PHD House at New Delhi on Saturday the 25th August, 2012. “The objective is to showcase and connect to the youth & responsible citizens of 21st century India, with some movies of excellence in the last 100 years of cinema in India” said Sandeep Somany President of PHDCCI. “India is the largest film producing country in the World and the film fraternity is excited to celebrate 100 years of the biggest brother of mass communication with lot of pride and glory. Acting Workshop At ASPA By Rakesh Bedi

In a series of guest ASPA- Asian School Of Performing Arts a part of AAFT- Asian Academy Of Film And Television invited a renowned actor Rakesh Bedi for a full day workshop and to have interaction with the students of One Year acting course at Marwah Studios. “To know more about acting, film industry and the environment prevailing in the television industry it is not only important but essential to have interface with the working professionals” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios introducing the guest to the acting students. Rakesh Bedi is an Indian film actor and television personality. He started his career as a supporting actor in the 1979 film Hamare Tumhare starring Sanjeev Kumar, and then went on to act in over 150 films and a couple of TV serials. Some of his most memorable roles were in the 1981 film Chashme Buddoor and in the TV serials Shrimaan Shrimati and Yes Boss, Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi. He had a little role in Gulzar’s Mere Apne and he has also acted in a number of Punjabi movies such as Main tu assi tussi.

10TH EDITION OF WE CARE FILMFEST ANNOUNCED

Brotherhood in association with the National Trust, the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan (UNIC), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT), the Global Rainbow Foundation and the Rapiscan Systems is organizing tenth edition of We Care Film Festival. ”The We Care Film Festival is an annual international traveling and educational film festival of short films and documentaries on disability issues. It travels to educational institutions and disability organizations aimed at sensitizing and engaging youth in the disability sector nationally and internationally” informed Sandeep Marwah President of the festival. ”The festival is an advocacy tool that seeks to bring about attitudinal and behavioral changes on approaches to disability, promote the inclusion of people with disabilities and rid people of misconceptions, myths and prejudices surrounding disability issues. First Poster Launched For International Sufi Film Festival

Present on the occasion renowned film maker Ashok Tyagi expressed the desire to be associated with the first film festival of this kind where films are on the subject of sufism and are going to be projected at Ajmer during 2nd International Sufi Festival which is a grand cultural affair. Recollecting first ISFI at Ajmer, R.K.Singh Director Asian School of Communication confirmed the participation of media students this time also at Ajmer festival. Short Films Are Beginners Paradise-Sandeep Marwah

Films and Theatre Society (FTS) recently organized the second edition of the Rang festival — a festival of theatre, photography and short films in Delhi. Founded by Atul Satya Kaushik, FTS owes its genesis to the fertile environs of Delhi University. Every Film Maker starts his carrier with making of a short film. It is so important to give opportunity to young film makers so that they can nourish to a bigger and better film makers. Short films are the beginners paradise” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios while inaugurating the Art festival & Cinesthesia of short films at Alliance Francaise De Delhi. The festival had six theatre productions — Arjun ka Beta, Jamuna, Koobar aur Kaaki, Bade Shahar ke Log. Living In... and Animal Farm. All the plays have been written by Kaushik, with Koobar aur Kaaki adapted from the works of Bharati and Premchand, and Animal Farm from George Orwell's novel. .Of the 80 entries received, 12 films were short listed by the judging panel and showcased before the audience. The films were on various topics — from animation and student projects to professional documentaries. For the photography festival, online polling ensued for the 200 received entries out of which six wiere chosen as winners by photographers Dheeraj Paul and T.S. Das.

The 8th Short Film Festival of Asian School Of Media Studies is now fixed for 13th and 14th of August, 2012 at Marwah Studios Campus to project and highlight the works of students of ASMS. “The department of Cinema, Multi Media, Mass Communication and Electronic Media will be presenting their films in these two days. The festival will have fictions, documentaries, music videos, advertisements as entries” said Ashok Tyagi Jt. Director ASMS and Festival Director. The committee consisting of journalist, film makers, educators and socialites will be selecting the final films for screening on the final day. The opening and closing day will be celebrated in the presence of big wigs of Indian Cinema. “The festival is dedicated to the 100 years of Cinema. Marwah Studios Join Hands with International Sufi Film Festival 2012

Marwah Studios which is the birth place of already popular different film festivals in the country including AAFT festival of short digital Films, ASMS Short Film Festival, International Festival Of Cellphone Cinema and Global Film Festival Noida now join hands with International Sufi Film Festival to be held in Ajmer this October.
