Short Films Are Beginners Paradise-Sandeep Marwah

Films and Theatre Society (FTS) recently organized the second edition of the Rang festival — a festival of theatre, photography and short films in Delhi. Founded by Atul Satya Kaushik, FTS owes its genesis to the fertile environs of Delhi University. Every Film Maker starts his carrier with making of a short film. It is so important to give opportunity to young film makers so that they can nourish to a bigger and better film makers. Short films are the beginners paradise” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios while inaugurating the Art festival & Cinesthesia of short films at Alliance Francaise De Delhi. The festival had six theatre productions — Arjun ka Beta, Jamuna, Koobar aur Kaaki, Bade Shahar ke Log. Living In... and Animal Farm. All the plays have been written by Kaushik, with Koobar aur Kaaki adapted from the works of Bharati and Premchand, and Animal Farm from George Orwell's novel. .Of the 80 entries received, 12 films were short listed by the judging panel and showcased before the audience. The films were on various topics — from animation and student projects to professional documentaries. For the photography festival, online polling ensued for the 200 received entries out of which six wiere chosen as winners by photographers Dheeraj Paul and T.S. Das.
