celebrated Africa Industrialization Day with media persons at Marwah Studios on
20th November.
Within
the framework of the Second Industrial Development Decade for Africa
(1991-2000), the UN General Assembly, in 1989, proclaimed 20 November Africa
Industrialization Day. The Day is intended to mobilize the commitment of
the international community to the industrialization of Africa.
This
year’s Africa Industrialization Day highlights the crucial role of job creation
and entrepreneurship in eradicating poverty.
“Although Africa is
home to some of the world’s fastest growing economies but still too many people
are still being left behind. Let us work together to foster job creation and
entrepreneurship throughout the continent as critical ways to build a more
prosperous and sustainable future for all." said Ban Ki-moon Secretary
General of United Nations.
