Noida: A well acclaimed
feature film Manjhi
- The Mountain Man was the first film of 8th Global Film Festival
Noida 2015 inaugurated by Mukesh Bhatt and ketan Mehta himself.
The feature film Manjhi is a 2015 Indian
biographical film, based on the life of Dashrath Manjhi, widely known as the
"Mountain Man", was a poor labourer in Gehlaur village, near Gaya in
Bihar, India, who carved a path 9.1 metres (30 ft) wide and 110 metres
(360 ft) long through a hill 7.6 metres (25 ft) using only a hammer
and chisel. Ketan Mehta, jointly produced by Viacom 18 Motion
Pictures, directs the film and NFDC India Upon release the film received
positive critical acclaim.
“It
is a proud moment for me to present my film as the first film of the festival.
The film has already brought many laurels to India” said Ketan Mehta the
director of the film.
“Film
festivals are the ambassadors of the culture of the country. You exchange a lot
through these films” said Sandeep Marwah President of the festival. “It is a
wonderful time for film lovers to enjoy the films in real film environment”
added Mukesh Bhatt. Ashok Tyagi festival director, Sushil Bharti Director
ICMEI, Dr. A.K.Srivastava Director General ASMS were also present there.
