Pattaya Attracts Global Cultural Minister Sandeep Marwah

Event at Pattaya at Hotel Hilton

Pattaya, 2nd April 2018: Pattaya is a seaside resort on the Eastern Gulf Coast of Thailand about 150 km southeast of Bangkok. Pattaya is mostly famous for its go-go and beer bars, but local authorities have made some efforts to provide more family-friendly attractions and activities.

“It is not possible in India, although the sex industry is still going strong and sex tourism remains the key money earner for Pattaya, the resort also attracts local families and holidaymakers from around the world,” said Sandeep Marwah Managing Director of National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India Limited at press meet at Hilton Hotels and Resorts at Pattaya.

Pattaya attracts 8 million tourists in a year. Thailand, Russia and China were the top three markets for Pattaya with a combined market share of 59 per cent.  They were followed by Germany and Taiwan, thus displacing the British who have traditionally been seen as the largest foreign group.

“Looking back, tourism growth in Pattaya entered a new age with the opening of Suvarnabhumi international airport in 2006 and the subsequent opening of the fast-track motorway linking to the Eastern Seaboard resort.” Added Marwah also President of Asian Institute of Hospitality and Tourism.
