Art And Culture Program at Ambedkar Centre


The Ministry of Minority Affairs organized a 'Mushaira' based on Mahatma Gandhi's teachings and principles here Saturday. The event, which commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, was held at Dr Ambedkar International Centre.

The mushaira witnessed eminent Urdu poets including the likes of Wasim Barelvi, Haseeb Soz, Aizaz Popular Marethi and Surendra Singh Shajar, among others who enthralled the audience and spread message of peace, humanity and unity through their poetic verses.

"While on one hand these programmes will spread the message and principles of Mahatma Gandhi, on the other hand they will also strengthen social harmony and brotherhood in the society," Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who inaugurated the event, said.


Eminent people from the field of politics, arts were in attendance to hear the performing poets. ”We have been repeatedly telling that the whole world can be brought together through art and culture. love, peace and unity through art and culture is our motto,” said Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios as a special guest at the event. 

Mushairas on the same line will also be organized in other cities -- Mumbai, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Ranchi -- in coming days, said the organizers.
