New Delhi: The 202nd Independence Day of the Republic of Peru was celebrated with great zeal and fervor, marking a momentous occasion for the country. The event was made even more memorable with the presence of distinguished guests, including Sandeep Marwah, the esteemed President of Marwah Studios and Chair for Indo Peru Film and Cultural Forum at Hotel Leela Palace.
The celebration held not only commemorated Peru’s independence but also marked the momentous 60th anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic relations between Peru and the Republic of India, fostering strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
As a Special Guest at the event, President of International Chamber of Media & Entertainment Sandeep Marwah’s presence added a touch of cultural diplomacy, emphasizing the significance of promoting arts, cinema, and cultural exchange between India and Peru. His pioneering efforts in the field of media and entertainment have made him an iconic figure in the global film industry and an invaluable ambassador for enhancing bilateral relations through cultural initiatives.
The event was graced by the honorable presence of Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Culture, Government of India, who served as the Chief Guest. During the ceremony, both dignitaries H.E. Javier Pauliinich Velarde ,Ambassador of Peru and Meenakshi Lekhi Minister for Cultural & External Affairs highlighted the historical milestones achieved in the past 60 years and expressed their shared vision for a future of enhanced collaboration, mutual understanding, and cultural exchange between India and Peru.
