Noida, 16 November 2025: Marwah Studios, Film City Noida, hosted a special cultural showcase to mark the 36th Anniversary of the Velvet Revolution and the ongoing Slovak Cultural Days in India. The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in India, in collaboration with the Indo Slovak Film and Cultural Forum of ICMEI, organised a vibrant Festival of Slovak Films along with an Art and Photography Exhibition, celebrating the creativity, history, and cinematic excellence of Slovakia.

The festival was formally inaugurated by H.E. Robert Maxian, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to India, who lit the ceremonial lamp to commence the proceedings. In his address, Ambassador Maxian highlighted the strength and global impact of the Slovak creative industry. He spoke about the power of cinema as a bridge between cultures, expressing pride in presenting Slovak storytelling, artistry, and heritage to Indian audiences.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair for the Indo Slovak Film and Cultural Forum, welcomed the dignitaries and guests. He emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and the role of such festivals in enhancing international cooperation, mutual understanding, and film education. The festival is going to screen three remarkable films representing diverse genres and eras of Slovak and international cinema: Invalid directed by Jonáš Karásek, Rebellion directed by Mathieu Kassovitz, Impossible Voyage directed by Georges Méliès.

The screenings offered audiences a unique blend of contemporary narratives, historical reflections, and timeless cinematic magic. A large number of guests—including film enthusiasts, academicians, cultural representatives, and students of cinema—attended the inauguration. The event concluded with an impressive Art and Photography Exhibition, showcasing visual works that celebrated Slovak culture, history, and artistic expression.

Film Director Ashok Tyagi spoke about the evolution of global cinema and the role of such festivals in nurturing creative talent. He was felicitated for completing 150 episodes of the celebrated television series CINEMAYA on MSTV.

Maj. Gen. Bipin Bakshi, former Deputy Director General, MP-IDSA, added valuable insights on cultural diplomacy and appreciated ICMEI’s continuous efforts in strengthening bilateral relations through art and media.

AAFT alumni Harman Singh and Ayush Shukla were also honoured for their achievement in completing their new feature film FILM 1000.

The festival opened with the screening of the Ecuadorian feature film “Dedicada A Mi Ex”, directed by Jorge Ulloa, receiving warm appreciation from the audience.

The BBG Delhi serves as a dynamic forum aimed at strengthening and promoting the UK–India commercial and cultural relationship, facilitating collaboration between companies and professionals from both nations.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, who holds the distinction of being the first Indian to be honoured eleven times at the British Parliament, has long been an active force in building bridges between India and the United Kingdom. He serves as the Ambassador of Wales to India, and currently chairs the Indo-UK Film and Cultural Forum as well as the Indo-Wales Creative Forum. Noida / New Delhi — November 2025: After the successful completion of three international academic tours to South Africa, the fourth group of 53 students from Asian Law College (ALC) returned to India following an enriching educational trip to Cape Town, where they participated in a Higher Orientation Program at the University of Cape Town under the academic MoU signed between the two institutions.

On their return, the students were felicitated and presented with the prestigious membership of the Indo South Africa Film and Cultural Forum (ISACFF) along with their certificates from the University of Cape Town, recognizing their successful participation and cross-cultural engagement.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Asian Education Group (AEG) and Chair for the Indo South Africa Film and Cultural Forum, expressed immense pride in the students’ achievements. “These educational visits strengthen our mission of global exposure and cultural understanding.
