Russian Delegation Visits Marwah Studios During President Putin’s State Visit to Strengthen Indo–Russian People-to-People Relations

New Delhi, 7 December 2025: A high-level delegation from Moscow representing the World Peoples Assembly visited Marwah Studios during the historic state visit of H.E. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, to India. The delegation was led by Svetlana Smirnova, Chairperson of the General Council, with the objective of strengthening cultural, social, and people-to-people ties between Russia and India.

Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University, expressed immense pride in the growing partnership between the two nations. “Marwah Studios and AAFT University have always believed in cultural diplomacy and global cooperation. Through the Indo Russia Film and Cultural Forum, we have conducted large-scale activities, film exchanges, cultural programs, festivals, and academic collaborations that have built strong bridges between the people of India and Russia. This visit during President Putin’s historic tour holds deep symbolic value,” Dr. Marwah said.

Svetlana Smirnova appreciated the longstanding efforts of Dr. Marwah in nurturing Indo–Russian friendship. “Dr. Sandeep Marwah has been a true cultural ambassador. His consistent initiatives have strengthened our relations and created new avenues for collaboration. The World Peoples Assembly values this partnership and looks forward to expanding joint activities in the years ahead,” she remarked.

During the ceremony, Dr. Marwah presented Honorary Memberships of the Indo Russia Film and Cultural Forum to all the distinguished members of the delegation, marking a new chapter of cooperation and goodwill.

In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, the Russian delegation honoured Dr. Sandeep Marwah for his seven years of dedicated service to Indo–Russian relations through the Indo Russia Film and Cultural Forum of ICMEI. The honour acknowledged his extraordinary role in promoting cultural understanding, creative exchange, and international harmony.

The visit concluded with discussions on expanding collaborative initiatives in cinema, media, performing arts, academic exchange, and joint festivals, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthening Indo–Russian friendship.
