| Dr. Sandeep Marwah Honoured by the North India Section of The Textile Institute for Outstanding Contribution to Fashion Education |
Noida: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the AAFT School of Fashion & Design and President of Marwah Studios, was honoured by the North India Section of The Textile Institute (NISTI) in recognition of his 33 years of outstanding contribution to fashion education, the establishment and promotion of the AAFT School of Fashion & Design, and the successful organization of the internationally acclaimed Global Fashion Week Noida.
The prestigious honour was presented by R. A. Lal, Chairman of the North India Section of The Textile Institute (NISTI), during a special function held at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida. The recognition also acknowledged the recent appointment of Dr. Sandeep Marwah as Ambassador of BRICS+ Fashion & Lifestyle, a distinction of particular significance as India currently holds the BRICS Presidency.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished personalities, including Dr. V. K. Kothari, Retired Professor, IIT Delhi; Dr. Vijay Yadav, Honorary Secretary, North India Section of The Textile Institute; and R. K. Vij, National President of The Textile Institute (India), along with leading members of the textile, fashion, and academic fraternity.
Accepting the honour, Dr. Sandeep Marwah said: “I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition from the North India Section of The Textile Institute. Fashion is not merely about design—it is a powerful medium of creativity, culture, sustainability, and economic growth. Through the AAFT School of Fashion & Design and Global Fashion Week Noida, our mission has always been to nurture talent, encourage innovation, and prepare young professionals to excel on the global stage. I dedicate this honour to my dedicated faculty, students, alumni, and all those who have been part of this remarkable journey over the last 33 years.”
Presenting the honour, R. A. R. K. Vij, National President of The Textile Institute (India), remarked: “Dr. Marwah’s commitment to education, innovation, and international collaboration has significantly strengthened India’s fashion and textile sectors. His achievements continue to inspire educators, designers, and entrepreneurs across the country.”
Dr. Vijay Yadav, Honorary Secretary, North India Section of The Textile Institute, said: “It is a matter of great pride for our institute to honour an educationist and institution builder like Dr. Sandeep Marwah, whose work has elevated fashion education to international standards and created countless opportunities for aspiring designers.”
