| Russian Documentaries Honoured with Award of Distinction at 14th Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC Noida 2026 |
Noida: Two remarkable Russian documentary films were showcased and honoured with the prestigious Award of Distinction during the 14th Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC Noida 2026.
The films included “St. Petersburg – Life in the City” directed by Ashot Dzhazoyan, and “Rostislav Zhuravlev – Russian War Correspondent” directed and produced by Inna Tanashova. Both documentaries received great appreciation from the audience for their powerful storytelling and strong journalistic content.
The screening of the films was formally inaugurated by Ms. Vera Gerasimova from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in New Delhi. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized the importance of cultural exchange between India and Russia and appreciated the platform provided by the festival to promote meaningful cinema.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair of the Indo Russian Film and Cultural Forum, expressed his gratitude to the Russian filmmakers and the Embassy of Russia for their continued support in strengthening Indo-Russian cultural relations. He highlighted that such collaborations enhance mutual understanding and reinforce the long-standing friendship between the two nations.
Speaking on the occasion, Vera Gerasimova appreciated the efforts of the Indo Russian Film and Cultural Forum in creating opportunities for filmmakers from both countries to connect and collaborate.
Later, the Award of Distinction was presented to the Russian films. The award was graciously received by Vera Gerasimova on behalf of the filmmakers.
The 14th Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC once again proved to be a significant platform for international dialogue, journalistic excellence, and cinematic exchange, further strengthening cultural diplomacy between India and Russia.
