HASSAN : 5th sept. The Multimedia Team of Marwah Studios is moving with The Queen’s Baton 2010 Delhi and now has reached Hassan, whose history dates back to the 11th century, after leaving the Karnataka capital Bangalore on Saturday. As in its journey around the Commonwealth and now in India, the Queen’s Baton helped spread the message of sport in the run up to next month’s Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi.

Four winners of Karnataka State’s Ekalavya Award – volleyball players T R. Ravindra and Supriya, kho kho star TS Siddhalinga Moorthy and ball badminton player Mahadev Gowda – joined Hassan district Deputy Commissioner Mr. Navin Raj Singh and Superintendent of Police Mr. Sharad Chauhan in leading thousands of residents who welcomed the baton.

In keeping with the trend witnessed on its journey so far, flowers were showered on the baton, firecrackers were burst and many tricoloured balloons were released to mark the arrival of the baton in the city. An enthusiastic crowd lined up along the 5.2 km relay from the district border to the city stadium.

“On its way from Bangalore to Hassan the baton received a grand welcome at the Mahatma Gandhi Government Pre University at Kunigal.” Informed Sandeep Marwah while speaking to Radio Noida who are partners with Multi Media Team.
