The 6th Global Film Festival Noida 2013
constituted Global Media Awards last year for all those people who have
contributed not only in main stream of media but also in media education.
Last year the award was bestowed upon Prof. Kalyan Sarkar,
Prof. Mansoor Naqvi and Prof. Harshvardhan for their contribution to media
education. This year Prof. Satish Garg has been nominated for this prestigious
award.
Satish Garg has worked in Doordarshan for more than thirty
years. Some of the finest programmes had been planned under his guidance and
supervision. He had been the executive producer of the first soap opera of the
country Hum Log. He had also been the first dean of Asian School of Media Studies.
The award was handed over to Satish Garg by Sandeep Marwah
in the presence of Jeno Hodi, Karl Bardosh, Judith Lazar, R.K.Singh, Dr. Shobha
Kulsherstra and a large audience.
