Noida: A powerful festival of films from Iceland was
inaugurated by the Ambassador of Iceland H.E. Thorir Ibsen at a
grand function at Marwah Studio Noida Film City.
“Films are the representatives of
culture of any country. These films will project Iceland in the most pleasing
manner. I invite film makers to come forward and record the natural beauty of
Iceland in their films” said H.E. Thorir Ibsen in his inaugural speech.
“We are successful in proceeding further
with International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and reached to a
new destination today by joining hands in organizing a film festival. I am sure
the next step will be bigger than this,” added Ambassador of Iceland.
“You don’t need tickets and passport to
be part of festival. This is a golden opportunity to study Iceland through
their films and learn about the country and its culture” said Sandeep Marwah
President Marwah Studio and ICMEI.
“This is the first time that the
dedicated festival of Iceland films has taken place in India. ICMEI will keep on
bringing these kind of events for the industry” said Ashok Tyagi Secretary
General of ICMEI.
Present on the occasion a filmmaker
from Bhutan Karma Tsehering appreciated the efforts of Asian
Academy of Film And Television and Asian School of Media Studies in accepting
these kind of value additions which generally are not available to students of
other institutions.
The festival will showcase four major
feature films including PARIS, METALHEAD, OF HORSES AND MEN and DEEP. The
feature film DEEP was the inaugural
film. The formal function was followed by question answers. The other officers
accompanied ambassador from the Embassy of Iceland.

Thorir Ibsen with the life membership of International Film And Television
research Centre of AAFT.
