ICMEI International Media And Entertainment Summit Inaugurated



New Delhi 28th August: “ The role of media is very essential in developing economy. But it should not cross its limit. Entertainment has a very important place in our life we must appreciate the efforts of ICMEI to bring in International media summit at the right hour” said Shyam Jaju Senior Vice President BJP and State in charge for Delhi and Uttrakhand at the inauguration of summit at Hyatt Hotel in Delhi.

“ Comparing Indian media and entertainment industry of USA Dr. Lalit Bhasin President Delhi Indo American Chamber of Commerce said, “We have yet to grow at the level of American both quantity wise and quality wise,  We have to be more responsible in our action”.

Sandeep Marwah President ICMEI and Chairperson of Media And Entertainment Committee of IACC initiated the talks by quoting figures from the Indian media and entertainment industry. “We are one of the biggest industry and we need more synchronization and planning in developing and promoting this industry so that we all can be more helpful to the government as well as to the large audience of this country”

“The business may look glamorous but the hard work and investment today in entertainment business is huge. Government has to come down to support the industry by way of reducing taxes,” said J.P.Chowskey President FFI- Film Federation Of India the Apex body in films business in India.

We are ready to join hands in all those issues, which are common, and for the benefits of the industry. ICMEI is a strong platform to remind government about our concerns,” said T.P.Agarwal President IMPPA- Indian Motion Picture Producers Association.

“American market of media and entertainment is in the hands of private people. The demand and supply measures the quantum of business. The industry is huge and we have catered to international business for the survival” said Peter Kemp Deputy Minister Counselor Economic, Environment, Science & Technology Affairs Embassy of the United States of America.

Later ICMEI presented a special award to KISAN Channel of Ministry of Information And Broadcasting, Government of India. The advisor Naresh Sirohi and Channel Head Ranjan Mukherjee received the award. Delegates attended the summit from 30 countries of the World. Pratyush Kumar Vice President IACC paid vote of thanks.
