Noida: “India’s animation and VFX industry was valued at around 83 billion Indian rupees in 2021, despite the lapse in market value in the previous year owed to the pandemic’s adverse effects. Estimates for 2024 indicate a growth rate of 29 percent with the industry’s value amounting to180 billion Indian rupees,” informed Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry addressing the students of AAFT School of Animation.
We need to look more at original stories and content rather than just being an outsourcing hub. For this to happen, media, corporate houses and Government need to invest a good amount of money in Indian Animation Industry. With the current Government and the announcement of a National Centre for Excellence in Animation by FM in the Budget, it definitely looks promising,” said Vrinda Sood founder and CEO of Citrus in a workshop conducted at AAFT.
“India has the world’s second-largest entertainment market, the Indian animation and visual effects industry has the potential to grab 20 to 25% of the worldwide AVGC market added Vrinda Soon answering questions by the animation students. Later Sandeep Marwah honoured Vrind with lifec membership of International Film and Television Club of AAFT. The workshop was designed by Ashish Garg Director AAFT School of Animation.
