Noida: The timeless ideology of Mahatma Gandhi continues to resonate across generations, inspiring individuals globally. At the 17th Global Film Festival Noida, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the Father of the Nation through the release of a commemorative poster. This act honored Gandhi’s enduring vision and principles, which remain relevant in addressing contemporary issues.
“Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings on various subjects are as significant today as they were during his lifetime. Through this forum and the unveiling of the poster, we reaffirm our commitment to his philosophy and pay our respects to his legacy,” stated Sandeep Marwah President of 17th Global Film Festival Noidda 2024.
The event was graced by eminent personalities from the world of film and diplomacy. Firdausal Hassan, Producer and President of the Film Federation of India Elect, commended the festival’s efforts in upholding the values of unity and peace. Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the acclaimed director of the film Pink, shared his reflections on Gandhi’s influence on global thought.
Abhay Sinha, Film Producer and President of the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA), emphasized the role of cinema in spreading Gandhi’s message. Similarly, Sakshi Mehra, President of the Motion Pictures Association (MPA), lauded the festival for keeping Gandhi’s ideals alive through creative and cultural platforms.
A host of celebrated artists, including renowned actress Shobit Rana, actor and singer Aroon Bakshi, and popular actors Anang Desai, Rajeev Mehta, and Surendrapal Singh, shared their admiration for Gandhi’s philosophy and its relevance in the modern era.
Representing Palestine, Dr. Abed Elrazeg Abu Jazer, Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of Palestine, expressed his appreciation for the festival’s dedication to promoting universal values of peace and understanding, echoing Gandhi’s vision.
