of Media And Entertainment Industry is more than happy to announce the
launching of its Indo Lebanon Cultural Forum by H.E. Ghassan Abdelkhalek Charge
d’ Affaires of Lebanon in India.
“The idea is to develop and
promote better relations between the two countries India and Lebanon through
arts and culture which also includes film, television, media, fashion, tourism,
events etc.” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and newly
appointed Chairperson of ILCF by H.E. Ghassan Abdelkhalek Charge d’ Affaires of
Lebanon in India, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of Lebanon.
“Lebanon,
officially known as the Lebanese Republic, is a sovereign state in Western
Asia. India and Lebanon enjoy cordial and friendly relations based on many
similarities such as political system based on parliamentary democracy,
non-alignment, human rights, commitment to a just world order, regional and
global peace, liberal market economy and a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit. In
the light of these similarities, there is good potential for strengthening
ongoing bilateral ties,” informed H.E. Ghassan Abdelkalek.
“India
established diplomatic relations with Lebanon in 1954 and maintained its
diplomatic representation in Beirut throughout the civil war except for a brief
closure of about two months from August 5 to October 16, 1989,” said Ashok
Tyagi Secretary General of ICMEI.
Sushil
Bharti Director Radio Noida 107.4FM paid vote of thanks. The session was open
to the young media persons for question answers. Later Sandeep Marwah presented
patron ship of Indo Lebanon Cultural Forum to H.E. Ghassan Abdelkhalek. Marwah
announced an AAFT scholarship in Media for the deserving student from Lebanon.
Soon
other program like students exchange, faculty exchange, film festivals, joint
productions, promotion of art and culture and tourism promotional activities
will follow by the forum.
