Global Summit on Fashion And Design Industry


Noida: ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry in association with Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India organized a Global Summit on Skill Development in Fashion And Design Industry at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.

“AAFT is one of the oldest school of skill development. Now we are celebrating 25 years in education and training. Our film school and fashion school has created a wonderful niche for itself in the international market,” said Sandeep Marwah introducing the subject to the foreign delegates.

The summit was divided into two sessions. The first one emphasized on the introduction to the subject and second session was the participation by the foreign delegates and presentations.

“We are here which looks like a dream come true. While leaving Egypt I was sure to meet some film and fashion personalities in India, now I am carrying life time memories back home,” said Mohammed Attia delegate from Egypt while inaugurating the session.

 “India is known for its film Industry and fashion follows. We in Tunisia copy Indian starts as far as dresses, hairstyle and mannerism are concerned. The impact of cinema is a lot on the fashion industry,” added Bechir Rjiba delegate from Tunisia.

“The colorful combination of Bhutanese costumes can be recognized from distance. For us its tradition but for the World it is fashion,” said Namkha Wangmo delegate from Bhutan.

“The art and culture of our country do consists of what we wear. The traditional dresses of our country can be appreciated by dress designers if given little importance,” said delegate from Jamaica.

The Global Summit on skill development in fashion and design industry was attended by the delegates from Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Niger, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Mauritius, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Belarus, Cambodia, Guatemala, Turkmenistan, Kenya, South Africa and India.

Later Sandeep Marwah honored the delegates with the life membership of World Peace Development And Research Foundation and memento of the summit. The delegates nominated and honored Sandeep Marwah with the title of Global Art And Cultural Minister. AAFT School of Fashion And Design supported the event.
