Cinema Builds Bridges Across Nations: Cultural Diplomacy Takes Centre Stage at 19th Global Film Festival Noida 2026

Noida: Exploring cinema’s power to connect cultures and strengthen international understanding, an insightful seminar on “Cinema as a Tool for Cultural Diplomacy & International Relations” was organised during the 19th Global Film Festival Noida 2026 at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida.

The session brought together distinguished personalities from cinema, media, fashion, music, literature and international cultural affairs before a large international audience of filmmakers, film enthusiasts and film students. The discussion highlighted how creative expression can encourage dialogue, deepen cultural appreciation and build friendships across borders.

Participants included actor Gurucharan Singh; anchor Manu Mirdha; renowned fashion designer Mandira Wirk; actor Garima Jain; journalist Monika Singh; forecaster Bipin Chandra Bhatt; actors Danish Iqbal, Murad Ali and Sahaarsh Shukla; writer Ujjwal Trivedi; renowned music director Shazad Ali; and Alfredo Caldera, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Venezuela.

Each speaker shared personal experiences and professional perspectives, bringing a distinctive voice to the discussion. Their contributions explored the relationship between storytelling, cultural identity and international exchange, offering students and filmmakers an opportunity to learn from practitioners across creative disciplines.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the Festival, President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media & Arts, emphasised cinema’s capacity to bring people closer through shared emotions and human experiences. He highlighted the importance of cultural exchanges and creative collaboration in strengthening relations between nations, reflecting his guiding message of “Love, Peace and Unity Through Art and Culture.”

The participation of representatives from diverse professions enriched the seminar and underscored the collective role of the creative industries in cultural diplomacy. The session reinforced the Global Film Festival Noida’s commitment to providing a platform where cinema, education and international dialogue come together.
