AAFT University Paid Gratitude to The Makers of Film Zanjeer

New Delhi: The pioneer film university of the country AAFT University of Media and Arts in association with International Film And Television Research Centre conducted a webinar to pay gratitude to the makers of feature film ZANJEER, one of the most successful films of Indian film industry.

Studying film through its makers is always a rare commodity in a film school. The pain of producing and directing the film can only be seen in the eyes of producer and director.  Hit and flop films should always be the part of the syllabus of young film aspirants,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of the University initiating the powerful webinar in AAFT School of Cinema.

Zanzeer in real was the turning point of the career of now so called the Masiah of Indian Film Industry- Amitabh Bachchan. The film was produced and directed by then the most popular commercial film maker Prakash Mehra who went out of way to cast Amitabh Bachchan even after two mediocre hits and 11 flop films. Film Zanjeer is evaluated as “The Birth of A Super Star”.

Well-known writer, critic and eminent scholar of Asian Cinema Aruna Vasudev expressed that the film is made to see again and again. The gripping story is the key to success.

Special invitee on the occasion Rakesh Kumar a well-known film director known for his films like Khoon Pasina, Mr. Natarwarlal, Do Aur Do Panch and Yarana with Amitabh Bachchan and Suryavanshi with Salman Khan narrated and unfold many stories of making of Zanjeer. “Amitabh Bachchan is one of the finest actors cinema has seen,” said Rakesh.

The guest of honor and first assistant that time known director Sushil Malik popular for his films Imaandar with Sanjay Dutt and Jaan Ki Kasam with Sumit Sehgal and Rohan Kapoor also recounted stories on creation of Zanjeer. “It is life time certificate to work with legend Amitabh Bachchan,” Malik added.

Film Director Ashok Tyagi now Secretary General of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry introduced and paid vote of thanks to the speakers of the day.

Selection Of Kaun Banega Crorepati At Marwah Studios


The huge crowd was waiting for the gates of Marwah Studios to open on 4th September at Noida Film City where huge cutouts of Amitabh Bachchan were displayed in every corner of the studios changing the ambience to Crorepati grounds.

“I am happy to see educated and excited participants who all have come from far off places to get selected in this most interesting show” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and founder of Film City. “There is hardly a space left to park cars and two wheelers in the whole complex of film city” he added.

The phone lines for the fourth season opened on August 2, 2010 at 9 PM and Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in once again to host it. Though, Sony TV has yet not announced the day on which KBC 4 will go on air. It is believed that the show will go on air from October 11, 2010; which happens to be Amitabh's Birthday.

The show has now shifted from Star Plus to Sony Television but the faces behind the curtain will be same as Siddhartha Basu remains director and creative head. The new logo designed for KBC Season 4 incorporated The New Indian Rupee Symbol which was unveiled in the same year.

Aziz Burney Shared His Experience With MBA Students


Asian Business School (ABS) with its students specializing in Media Management had a wonderful interaction program with the renowned and veteran journalist and now group editor of Sahara Dr. Aziz Burney.

Explaining the difficulties and fun in establishing and managing a News Paper Office Aziz Burney explained the students of business administration the different carrier opportunities they can have after passing out from the college in this field.

Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Director of Asian Business School said, “India offers a promising market for the print media industry. The expected CAGR of 12 per cent is a result of the increasing rate of literacy. In 2010, the print media is expected to reach Rs 19,500 crore from its present value of Rs 10,900 crore”

“The immense scope of the Indian print media have also aroused the interest of foreign investors” said Gurbir Garewal film maker and Jt. Director AAFT. “Digital printing, new ways of promotion and distribution are the latest trends and content being the focus of the print media industry” said Arun Anand, HOD Still Photography.

.Later Marwah presented a copy of new Coffee Table book on Amitabh Bachchan to Burney published by the Documentation department of International Film And Television Research Centre .The event was supported by Radio Noida 107.4FM and International Public Broadcasting Forum.
