Sandeep Marwah Speaks at ‘Brands India’ Panel Discussion at Bharat Mandapam

New Delhi: A powerful and insightful panel discussion on “Brands India” was held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, during the four-day Bhartiya Vyapar Mahotsav (Indian Business Expo), designed and presented by the Ministry of MSME and conducted by the BSL – Brand and Sourcing Leaders Association.

Addressing the distinguished gathering, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Founder of Noida Film City, spoke extensively on the importance of building strong Indian brands and creating a powerful global identity for Indian products, services and creative industries.

Dr. Marwah said, “India is not only a huge market but also a powerful source of creativity, talent, innovation and entrepreneurship. The time has come for Indian brands to move confidently from ‘Made in India’ to ‘Created, Designed and Branded in India.’ Strong brands are ambassadors of a nation’s culture, values and capabilities.”

He further emphasised the enormous potential of the media and entertainment industry, fashion, design, tourism and creative economy in strengthening Brand India. “Brand building is not only about a product; it is about creating trust, experience, storytelling and an emotional connect with the consumer. Media and entertainment can play a major role in taking Indian brands to every corner of the world,” he added.

The panel brought together prominent industry leaders who shared their experiences and insights on branding, sourcing, innovation, entrepreneurship and the future of Indian businesses in the global marketplace.

Anupam Bansal, Executive Director, Liberty Shoes, spoke about the evolution of Indian brands and the importance of understanding consumer aspirations while maintaining quality and consistency.

Tapan Bansal, Co-Founder, Globgrid Fashion, highlighted the changing dynamics of the fashion and sourcing industry and the need for Indian businesses to embrace innovation and global trends while retaining their distinctive identity.

Shilpi Tiwari, Managing Director, AI Global Connect shared perspectives on entrepreneurship, technology, innovation and the growing opportunities for Indian businesses in the new economy. The program was accelerated by Dr Kiruba Devi COO & Head of Zivame- Reliance Retail Ltd.

The discussion underlined the need for stronger collaboration between entrepreneurs, policymakers, brand leaders, MSMEs and the creative industries to establish Indian brands as globally competitive enterprises.

The Bhartiya Vyapar Mahotsav provided a significant platform for businesses, entrepreneurs, MSMEs and industry leaders to showcase their capabilities, explore new markets and strengthen business collaborations, further contributing to the vision of a confident and globally recognised Brand India.
