| WPDRF and Rotary E Club of Winter Haven Observes International Day for Landlocked Developing Countries |
Noida: The World Peace Development and Research Foundation (WPDRF), in association with the Rotary E Club of Winter Haven, Florida, USA, observed the International Day of Awareness of the Special Development Needs and Challenges of Landlocked Developing Countries, with the support of the International Chamber of Media & Entertainment Industry (ICMEI).
The programme highlighted the unique economic, social and developmental challenges faced by landlocked developing countries, including limited access to international markets, high transportation and transit costs, infrastructure gaps and the need for stronger international cooperation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of WPDRF and ICMEI, said, “Landlocked developing countries face challenges that require collective global attention and meaningful cooperation. Their geographical limitations should never become barriers to development, dignity and opportunity. The international community must work together to strengthen connectivity, education, technology, trade and sustainable development in these nations.”
Dr. Marwah further emphasised that peace and development are closely interconnected. “When nations cooperate, share knowledge and create opportunities for people, we build stronger foundations for peace. Art, culture, media and education can become powerful instruments for bringing nations closer and creating greater understanding among communities,” he added.
Representatives of the Rotary E Club of Winter Haven appreciated the initiative and stressed the importance of global partnerships in addressing developmental challenges. The programme also highlighted the role of international organisations and civil society in creating awareness and supporting inclusive and sustainable development.
The observance concluded with a renewed commitment to promote Love, Peace and Unity Through Art and Culture, while encouraging greater international cooperation and awareness towards the special development needs and challenges of landlocked developing countries.
The programme was part of the continuing initiatives of WPDRF and ICMEI to create awareness on global issues and strengthen the spirit of international friendship, cooperation and peaceful coexistence.
