H.E. Ms. Hanisha Jairam Presented with Patronship of Indo Suriname Film and Cultural Forum

New Delhi: In a significant initiative to further strengthen the cultural and creative relationship between India and Suriname, H.E. Ms. Hanisha Jairam, Ambassador of Suriname to India, was presented with the Patronship of the Indo Suriname Film and Cultural Forum by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair of the Indo Suriname Film and Cultural Forum, at a humble and dignified function held at the Embassy of Suriname, New Delhi.

Presenting the Patronship, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder of Noida Film City, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) and Chancellor of AAFT University, said, “It is a great honour to present the Patronship of the Indo Suriname Film and Cultural Forum to H.E. Ms. Hanisha Jairam. Her guidance and support will add tremendous strength to our efforts to bring the people and creative communities of India and Suriname closer.”

Dr. Marwah further said, “India and Suriname share a deep historical and people-to-people connection. Cinema, art, culture, music, education and tourism can further enrich this relationship. The Forum will work as a bridge between the two nations and create opportunities for filmmakers, artists, media professionals, students and cultural institutions to interact, exchange ideas and collaborate.”

Accepting the Patronship, H.E. Ms. Hanisha Jairam, Ambassador of Suriname to India, expressed her gratitude to Dr. Sandeep Marwah and appreciated the initiative to establish stronger cultural connections between the two countries.

The Ambassador said, “I am honoured to accept the Patronship of the Indo Suriname Film and Cultural Forum. Culture is a powerful means of connecting people, and the relationship between India and Suriname has a very special human dimension. I am pleased to support initiatives that promote greater understanding and friendship between our two countries.”

She further expressed her willingness to encourage cooperation in film, art, music, education, cultural exchange and tourism, and said that the Forum could provide an important platform for young people and creative professionals from India and Suriname to discover new opportunities for collaboration.

Dr. Marwah expressed his sincere appreciation to the Ambassador and the Embassy of Suriname for their warm support and hospitality. He reiterated that the Indo Suriname Film and Cultural Forum would continue to promote friendship, mutual understanding and people-to-people relations through the creative power of cinema and culture.

The presentation of the Patronship marks another important milestone in the activities of the Indo Suriname Film and Cultural Forum, with the shared vision of using art and culture as instruments of friendship, peace and international cooperation between India and Suriname.
