Noida: In a significant development towards strengthening India–Nicaragua relations through cinema, media and culture, Dr. Sandeep Marwah has been nominated as the Chair of the Indo Nicaragua Film and Cultural Forum by H.E. Ms. Nadeska Imara Cuthbert Carlson, Ambassador of Nicaragua to India, at a grand function held at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida.
The announcement was made in the presence of eminent personalities including Vijay Goel, Former Union Minister and Vice Chairperson, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti; H.E. Ms. Nadeska Imara Cuthbert Carlson, Ambassador of Nicaragua; Dr. Ajit Pathak, President, Public Relations Society of India (PRSI); Brig. Sujit Narain, YSM, SM (Gallantry), Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board, Government of NCT of Delhi; Dr. Subhash Goyal, CMD, STIC India; and Richa Mehta, Model and Actor.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), Founder of Noida Film City and Chancellor of AAFT University, expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador of Nicaragua for the confidence reposed in him.
“I am deeply honoured to be nominated as the Chair of the Indo Nicaragua Film and Cultural Forum. India and Nicaragua share immense possibilities for cooperation in films, television, digital media, art, culture, education and tourism. I accept this responsibility with great enthusiasm and a commitment to create stronger bridges between the creative communities of both nations,” said Dr. Marwah.
Dr. Marwah further stated, “Cinema and culture have the unique ability to transcend geographical boundaries and bring people closer. The Forum will work towards creating opportunities for filmmakers, artists, students, media professionals and cultural organisations from India and Nicaragua to meet, interact and collaborate. Our objective is to use the power of art and culture to promote friendship, understanding, peace and international cooperation.”
H.E. Ms. Nadeska Imara Cuthbert Carlson, Ambassador of Nicaragua to India, congratulated Dr. Sandeep Marwah on his nomination and expressed confidence in his leadership of the Forum.
The Ambassador said, “I am very pleased to nominate Dr. Sandeep Marwah as the Chair of the Indo Nicaragua Film and Cultural Forum. His extraordinary contribution to cinema, media, education, culture and international cooperation makes him an ideal person to lead this important initiative.”
