Noida: In a new development, MP Bob Blackman of the British Parliament’s House of Commons has been named the patron of the Indo-UK Film and Cultural Forum. The forum aims to promote cultural exchange and collaboration between India and the UK through the medium of films and other cultural activities.
“With Blackman’s appointment as patron, the forum is expected to receive a boost in its efforts towards strengthening the Indo-UK relationship. Blackman has been a vocal supporter of the Indian community in the UK and has played an active role in promoting ties between the two countries,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Chair for Indo UK Film and Cultural Forum while presenting the certificate of Patronship.
Robert John Blackman (born 26 April 1956) is a British politician who has been the Member of Parliament MP for Harrow East since 2010. A member of the Conservative Party , he has served as the Joint Executive Secretary of the backbench 1922 Committee since 2012. Blackman was the Member of the London Assembly (MLA) for Brent and Harrow between 2004 and 2008.He is the recipient of Padma Shri Award of India for developing India UK Relations.
