Noida: – The 8th Global Fashion and Design Week celebrated a unique fusion of fashion and culinary arts with its Food Festival, held in association with the Indo Iran Film and Cultural Forum, Indo DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum, and Indo Japan Film and Cultural Forum of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry. This event brought together the rich and diverse culinary traditions of Korea, Iran, and Japan.
The third session of the festival, held on the first day, was inaugurated by Taku Hiroki, Senior Director of Research at JETRO, and H.E. Choe Hui Chol, Ambassador of DPR Korea to India, in front of an esteemed audience. Their presence underscored the importance of cultural exchange and the celebration of international gastronomy.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of AAFT, proudly introduced the talented chefs from the AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism. These chefs showcased their culinary skills by preparing a variety of dishes from Iran, Japan, and DPR Korea, highlighting the festival’s theme of global unity and cultural appreciation.
H.E. Choe Hui Chol, Ambassador of DPR Korea to India, expressed his delight at the event, saying, “The food presented today is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of our nations. The students of AAFT have done an excellent job in bringing these flavors to life.”
Taku Hiroki of Japan added, “It is a pleasure to see such dedication and talent from the chefs at AAFT. The Japanese cuisine presented here today is both authentic and innovative.”
The festival also saw the participation of other notable dignitaries, including Jenika Kalra from JETRO (Japan) and Kim Myong Chol, First Secretary of DPR Korea. Their attendance highlighted the international significance of the event and the collaborative spirit of the Global Fashion and Design Week.
The food festival was a visual and sensory delight, with colorful flags and traditional decorations from the three countries creating an inviting and festive atmosphere. Attendees from the concurrent fashion show were drawn to the culinary exhibition, adding to the vibrant exchange of cultures.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah remarked, “This event is a celebration of cultural diversity and culinary excellence.
