Noida, India – The 8th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2024 was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and grandeur at Marwah Studios, Noida. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the event, extended a warm welcome to distinguished guests, including H.E. Dambajavyn Ganbold, Ambassador of the Embassy of Mongolia, Cdr. K L Ganju, Hon. Consul General of the Republic of Comoros, renowned designer Rina Dhaka, and Ruby Yadav, former State Vice President of BJP Women Cell and Chair for Art and Culture BJP.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, in his address, emphasized the significance of fashion in bridging cultures and promoting creativity. He praised the efforts of the students and faculty of the AAFT School of Fashion and Design for their innovative and culturally rich presentations.
The highlight of the event was the stunning array of garments presented by the students of AAFT School of Fashion and Design. Each collection drew inspiration from the unique cultural heritage of different countries. The collections included:
- Comoros: Designer Pranjal showcased garments inspired by the vibrant culture of Comoros.
- Bahamas: Indu and Ankita presented a beautiful collection inspired by the Bahamas.
- Maldives: Akriti Gola drew inspiration from the serene and picturesque Maldives.
- Iran: Akansha, Anushka, and Rohit impressed the audience with their Iranian-inspired designs.
- Serbia: Sapna Garg brought Serbian culture to life with her exceptional designs.
- Mongolia: G. Mohit, Manisha, and Saniya highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Mongolia.
- Gambia: Shritika Ambisth showcased garments inspired by Gambia.
In addition to the fashion presentations, the event also witnessed the release of the Coffee Table Book titled “Old Money Aesthetic,” designed by Smiti Huria, a student of Fashion Communication. The book encapsulates timeless and classic fashion trends, emphasizing elegance and sophistication.
