| ICMEI Extends Heartiest Congratulations to H.E. João Manuel Mendes Ribeiro de Almeida and the People of Portugal on Independence Day |
Noida: International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) extended its heartiest congratulations to H.E. João Manuel Mendes Ribeiro de Almeida, Ambassador of Portugal to India, and to the people of Portugal on the occasion of Portugal’s Independence Day, celebrated on 1st December. The message conveyed warm wishes for peace, progress, and prosperity to the friendly nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI, emphasized that India and Portugal share historically strong and friendly bilateral relations, rooted in mutual respect, cultural exchange, and growing cooperation in multiple fields. He highlighted the role of creative industries in further strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Dr. Marwah added that the Indo–Portugal Film and Cultural Forum is actively working to enhance collaboration in films, media, art, culture, education, and cultural exchange programs, and looks forward to greater participation from Portuguese institutions, artists, and professionals in joint initiatives. He reiterated ICMEI’s commitment to promoting love, peace, and unity through art and culture, using creative platforms as effective tools of cultural diplomacy.
The occasion was marked as a reaffirmation of friendship between India and Portugal, with renewed enthusiasm to expand cultural cooperation and shared creative endeavors in the years ahead.
