Noida, India: Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), on behalf of the media and entertainment industry and the art and culture fraternity, extended his heartiest congratulations to His Excellency Maj. Gen. Vetsop Namgyel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan, and to the people of Bhutan on the auspicious National Day of Bhutan, celebrated on 17th December.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah highlighted the deep-rooted and time-tested friendship between India and Bhutan, describing the relationship as one of mutual respect, trust, and cultural affinity. “India and Bhutan are not just neighboring nations but best friends who share strong cultural, educational, and people-to-people ties,” he said.
Dr. Marwah also appreciated the significant role played by the Indo Bhutan Film and Cultural Forum, which has been working commendably to strengthen cultural cooperation and promote creative exchanges between the two countries. Through films, festivals, education, and collaborative initiatives, the forum has contributed meaningfully to nurturing bilateral relations.
Emphasizing the contribution of education in shaping Bhutan’s creative landscape, Dr. Marwah noted that AAFT (Asian Academy of Film & Television) has trained many talented students from Bhutan in cinema and media disciplines. These trained professionals have gone on to play a pioneering role in establishing and strengthening the film industry in Bhutan.
He further added that it is a matter of pride that Dr. Sandeep Marwah serves as the Patron of the Bhutan Film Producers Association, reaffirming his continued commitment to supporting the growth of Bhutanese cinema and cultural initiatives on global platforms.
Dr. Marwah concluded by wishing the Government and people of Bhutan continued peace, prosperity, and cultural vibrancy, and expressed optimism for even stronger collaboration between India and Bhutan in the fields of media, entertainment, art, and culture in the years to come.
