New Delhi, October 26 – The High Commissions of Guyana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Ministry of External Affairs, hosted a vibrant musical evening titled Rally Round The West Indies at Azad Bhawan. The event showcased the rich and rhythmic music of the Caribbean, bringing together prominent West Indian artists for an enthralling evening filled with energy and cultural celebration.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair of the Indo Trinidad and Tobago Film and Cultural Forum, was among the distinguished guests. Reflecting on the event, Dr. Marwah shared, “Music is life. The beauty of good music transcends borders and speaks to everyone. This was an extraordinary show, with prominent artists from the West Indies delivering captivating performances. It was an evening brimming with zest and enthusiasm.”
Expressing his admiration for the musicians, Dr. Marwah also remarked, “I wish I could invite them to the AAFT School of Music. It would have been an incredible opportunity for our young students to experience and learn from the vibrant musical heritage of the West Indies.”
The event drew a distinguished audience, including ambassadors, diplomats, and prominent figures from Delhi’s business, art, and cultural circles. Lasting several hours, Rally Round The West Indies was a resounding success, celebrating the deepening cultural connections between India and the Caribbean nations.
