Noida: The International Journalism Centre (IJC) recently conferred the title of Life Member to the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to India, His Excellency Ashraf Shikhaliyev, for his contribution in enhancing cultural relations between India and Azerbaijan through the Indo-Azerbaijan Film and Cultural Forum, presented together by Lord Remi Ranger of House of Lords British Parliament and Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor AAFT University.
The ceremony took place during the 11th Global Festival of Journalism in Noida, an initiative aimed at promoting the importance of journalism in fostering cross-cultural exchange and mutual understanding. The event witnessed the presence of notable personalities from both India and abroad, including representatives from the media, government officials, and members of the film and culture fraternity.
In his acceptance speech, His Excellency Ashraf Shikhaliyev expressed his gratitude for the honor and highlighted the potential for deeper collaboration between the two countries in fields such as education, trade, and culture. He also emphasized the importance of promoting cultural exchange to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen bilateral ties.
The Indo-Azerbaijan Film and Cultural Forum was established with the objective of promoting cultural exchange between the two countries, and the Life Membership conferred upon His Excellency Ashraf Shikhaliyev acknowledges his efforts in furthering this cause. The event showcased the potential for increased cooperation and exchange between India and Azerbaijan and highlighted the role of journalism in fostering cultural understanding.
