New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chair for Indo Ireland Film and Cultural Forum congratulated the visiting Minister from Ireland Roderic O’ Gorman Minister for Children Equality Integration and Youth, Government of Ireland, and H.E. Bredan Ward Ambassador of Ireland to India on the celebration of St. Patricks Day and Hundred years of Ireland. The event aimed to celebrate Irish culture and heritage, as well as to strengthen diplomatic ties between Ireland and India.
St Patrick’s Day on 17th March is the biggest day in Ireland ‘s cultural calendar and a national holiday with a host of events throughout Ireland and all over the World in celebration of the nation’s patron saint.
The Minister from Ireland Roderic O’ Gorman highlighted the significance of St. Patrick’s Day as a celebration of Irish identity and culture. He spoke about the history of St. Patrick and the role of the Irish diaspora in promoting Irish culture and values around the world.
The Ambassador of Ireland emphasized the importance of diplomatic relations between Ireland and India. He highlighted the shared values and interests of the two countries, such as a commitment to democracy, human rights, and sustainable development. He also spoke about the potential for increased trade and investment between Ireland and India, and encouraged greater collaboration in areas such as education, research, and innovation.
Chief Guest of the day Meenakshi Lekhi Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of India attended the event and said that Patrick’s Day is a celebration of Irish culture and a reminder of the importance of diplomacy in promoting, understanding, and cooperation, between nations.
