| Indo–New Zealand Film & Cultural Forum and C D Foundation Host Summit to Strengthen Bilateral Creative Ties |
New Delhi: In a significant step toward deepening cultural and creative collaboration between India and New Zealand, the Indo–New Zealand Film and Cultural Forum of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) extended its full support to C D Foundation for the preparation of a high-level summit ahead of an upcoming Indian delegation visit to New Zealand.
The summit was formally inaugurated by the High Commissioner of New Zealand to India H.E. Patrick John Rata at Hotel Taj, marking a strong diplomatic and cultural endorsement of the initiative. The event brought together leaders from media, cinema, culture, and international cooperation to chart new avenues of collaboration.
Addressing the gathering, Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI and Chair of the Indo–New Zealand Film & Cultural Forum, emphasized the growing importance of people-to-people connections through cinema, media, and cultural exchange. He stated that such summits play a crucial role in building long-term relationships, encouraging co-productions, academic exchanges, tourism, and mutual understanding between the two nations. He added that ICMEI remains committed to using creative industries as a bridge of friendship between India and New Zealand.
Speaking on the occasion, Charu Das, Founder of C D Foundation, expressed her gratitude for the support extended by the Indo–New Zealand Film & Cultural Forum and ICMEI. She highlighted that the summit was designed as a strategic platform to prepare meaningful engagements, dialogues, and collaborations during the forthcoming visit to New Zealand, ensuring productive outcomes for both countries.
The summit concluded with a shared resolve to strengthen Indo–New Zealand relations through sustained cultural diplomacy, creative partnerships, and collaborative initiatives, reinforcing the role of media and culture as powerful instruments of global connection.
