Noida: The poster of the forthcoming 14th International Documentary Film Festival was officially released during the prestigious 14th Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC Noida 2026 at Marwah Studios. The unveiling ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Meenakshi Lekhi, former Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Government of India; Dr. Neeraj A. Sharma, Hon. Consul General of the Republic of Palau; and noted Film Director Amber Sharma.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Founder of Noida Film City, spoke about the growing stature of the International Documentary Film Festival. He highlighted that the festival has now become the second biggest documentary film festival in the country and continues to expand its global reach with participation from filmmakers across continents.
Dr. Marwah emphasized that documentaries are the most powerful medium of truth, education, and social transformation. “Documentaries are the mirror of society. They inform, inspire, and ignite meaningful dialogue. Through this festival, we aim to promote realistic cinema and encourage filmmakers who are dedicated to presenting facts with creativity and responsibility,” he said. He added that the platform provides emerging and established filmmakers an opportunity to showcase impactful stories to an international audience.
Dr. Neeraj A. Sharma appreciated the initiative taken by Marwah Studios in promoting documentary cinema. He spoke about the importance of cultural diplomacy and how documentary films help strengthen global understanding by showcasing diverse traditions, challenges, and achievements of different nations. He congratulated the organizers for consistently hosting world-class festivals that bring together creative minds from across the globe.
Film Director Amber Sharma shared his insights on the evolving landscape of documentary filmmaking. He highlighted how technology and digital platforms have opened new avenues for storytellers, making documentaries more accessible and engaging for younger audiences. He commended the festival for encouraging innovative storytelling and nurturing new talent.
Meenakshi Lekhi, while addressing the audience, lauded the efforts of Marwah Studios in promoting meaningful cinema and journalism. She emphasized the critical role of documentaries in preserving culture, documenting history, and raising awareness on social issues.
