New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), extended his heartfelt congratulations to H.E. Dr. Abdullahi Mohammad Odowa, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to India, and to the Government and the people of Somalia on the occasion of Somalia’s Independence Day, celebrated on 1st July.
Conveying his warm wishes, Dr. Marwah said, “On this historic occasion, I extend my sincere greetings to the people of Somalia. India and Somalia share warm and friendly relations founded on mutual respect, cooperation, and a shared vision for peace and development. I wish the people of Somalia continued peace, stability, prosperity, and progress.”
Dr. Marwah further emphasized that cultural diplomacy has the power to strengthen international understanding and build enduring friendships. He noted that the Indo Somalia Film and Cultural Forum, functioning under the aegis of ICMEI, has been working to promote bilateral cooperation through art, culture, media, education, and cultural exchanges.
“The Forum now needs to further upgrade and expand its activities by introducing more collaborative programmes, film festivals, cultural events, academic exchanges, and creative partnerships between India and Somalia. ICMEI remains fully committed to deepening the cultural and people-to-people relations between our two friendly nations,” Dr. Sandeep Marwah added.
