Noida: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), in association with the Rotary E-Club of Winter Haven, observed World Hepatitis Day on 28th July at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida, with the objective of creating awareness about the prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatment of hepatitis.
The awareness programme brought together members of the media, healthcare professionals, social workers, students, and representatives from various organizations to emphasize the importance of education, timely screening, vaccination, and access to treatment in eliminating hepatitis as a public health threat.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, President of ICMEI, and President of the Rotary E-Club of Winter Haven, highlighted the need for collective efforts in combating hepatitis through awareness and preventive healthcare.
“World Hepatitis Day reminds us that awareness is the first step towards prevention. Millions of people remain unaware that they are living with hepatitis, making early detection and timely treatment extremely important. Through education, vaccination, regular health check-ups, and community participation, we can work together towards a hepatitis-free future. Every individual has a role to play in promoting healthier communities,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah.
Dr. Marwah further emphasized that organizations engaged in education, media, and social development have a responsibility to use their platforms to spread authentic health information and encourage healthy lifestyles. He reiterated the commitment of ICMEI and the Rotary E-Club of Winter Haven to organizing programmes that support public health, wellness, and social awareness.
The programme also highlighted the global theme of World Hepatitis Day, encouraging people to seek timely testing, reduce stigma associated with the disease, and support national and international efforts aimed at eliminating viral hepatitis.
The event concluded with a collective pledge by the participants to promote health awareness, encourage preventive healthcare practices, and contribute towards building a healthier and more informed society. The initiative reaffirmed the commitment of ICMEI and the Rotary E-Club of Winter Haven to advancing public health through education, awareness, and community engagement.
