New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, attended a special programme organized by Abhay Sinha under the banner of the Loknayak Jayaprakash International Studies Development Centre at Gandhi Bhawan to commemorate Emergency Day. The event brought together eminent personalities from diverse walks of life, including intellectuals, social leaders, educationists, and members of civil society, to reflect on the significance of democracy and constitutional values.
The programme served as a platform to remember an important chapter in India’s democratic history and to discuss the importance of safeguarding democratic institutions, freedom, and national progress.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sandeep Marwah said: “The Emergency remains an important reminder of the value of democracy, freedom of expression, and responsible governance. It is our collective duty to learn from history and work with dedication, integrity, and a spirit of nation-building. Every citizen has a role to play in accelerating India’s progress and making up for opportunities that may have been lost over the years through hard work, innovation, education, and unity.”
Welcoming the distinguished guests, Abhay Sinha, organizer of the programme, said: “Remembering the Emergency is not only about reflecting on the past but also about strengthening our commitment to democratic values and national development. Through such programmes, we aim to inspire citizens, particularly the younger generation, to uphold the ideals of freedom, justice, and responsible participation in nation-building.”
The event concluded with a collective pledge by the participants to uphold democratic principles, promote social harmony, and contribute positively towards building a stronger, more progressive, and inclusive India.
