Tribute To Mohammad Rafi At AAFT
Glowing tributes were paid to the perennial gold voice of Hindi cinema Mohammad Rafi on his 21st death anniversary at the Asian Academy Of Film and Television. Speaking on this occasion the director Sandeep Marwah said that the present generation of film makers should be grateful because of legacy they have inherited.
Rafi claimed to have recorded 28,000 songs in 11 Indian languages between 1944 and April 1980. Rafi has sung 4,516 Hindi film songs, 112 non-Hindi film songs, and 328 private (non-film) songs. His singing career spanned about 40 years, and his songs ranged from classical numbers to patriotic songs, sad lamentations to highly romantic numbers, qawwalis to ghazals and bhajans, and from slow melancholic tunes to fast and melodious fun filled songs
Dean cinema Ashok Tyagi recalled the contribution of Rafi Sahab in making actors from Dilip Kumar to Amitabh Bachchan by lending his voice. Joint Director R.K.Singh and Dean Om Gupta of Asian School Media studies also spoke about him. The faculty and students of different schools of Marwah Studios were present on this occasion. Screen Writing Workshop By Aryaan Singh At ASMS
The renowned actor and writer Aryaan Singh shared his vast experience of films and television writing with the students of Asian School of Media Studies invited by Ashok Tyagi dean Cinema.
“The bigger the experience better and easy it is to write variety for the medium” said Sandeep Marwah while introducing the writer Aryan Singh of feature film Padmini, Kuch Toh Hua Hai, Teenagers, Its Rocking Dard Disco, Dil Ya Bil, The Lost Country and TV serials like Narad News Network, Angrezi Mein Kahate Hain, Har Mard Pe, Sabse Bara Rupaiya, Jhoota Kahin Ka and Mad House.
“What ever you can write, you must write that is the first principal of writing in case you want to become the writers “ said Aryaan Singh. “Today every director has to be a writer to give his best” he added. Aryaan answered to all the questions of cinema students.

The 3rd Global Film Festival Noida 2010 has attracted many National and International organizations as its partners in progress and Asian School of Media Studies has also now become the part of this festival to be held on 12-14th November at Marwah Studios Complex Noida Film City.
“We want young and enthusiastic students of Asian School of Graphics and Animation to come forward and get themselves associate with the requirements of the 3rd edition of Global Film festival as far as graphics and animation is concerned” said Sandeep Marwah President of the Festival.

Sandeep Marwah Represented Media In Queen’s Baton Relay At Jaipur
Jaipur.22nd September “It is my proud privileged to be part of the relay team and to run with the Queen’s Baton in the historical city of Jaipur. I am feeling so patriotic and wish that everything should go well at Commonwealth Games as per plans” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Director of Asian Academy Of Film And Television to the National Press at Jaipur where earlier Baton was received by Rajasthan Olympic Association Chief Janardhan Gehlot from Agra.
Sandeep Marwah, the renowned media personality and an International record holder of producing largest number of shorts films in the World, was representing films, Television and media Industry in Queen’s Baton Relay. He has been a media Guru and has trained more than 8000 persons from 75 countries.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. in a ceremonial gesture along with state tourism minister Bina Kak handed over the Baton to Olympic silver medalist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore at Amar Jawan Jyoti. A light drizzle and overcast conditions could not dampen the mood of thousands of people including students lined up both sides of the path holding national flags and showering floral tributes.
The convoy was accompanied by CWG mascot Shera, chief secretary Salauddin Ahmed, Jaipur MP Mahesh Joshi, secretary of sports and youth affairs, Rohit Kumar Arjun Award winners like Gopal Saini, Kuldeep Singh Garcha, Shriram Singh, Rajkumar, Surendra Kataria, Hanuman Singh, Dyanchand, Salim Durani were prominent among the sportspersons who joined the rally. The six-km course was dotted with hoardings and banners on the Games.
QBR culminated at Hawa Mahal after passing through MI Road, Sanganeri Gate and Chotte Chaupad. A cultural program at Jawahar Kala Kendra marked the event.
The Baton will proceed to Jodhpur on Thursday and after passing through Jaisalmer and Bikaner, it will move into Haryana on 26th September. The Baton will complete its 20,000 km journey before reaching New Delhi on September 30.

The Indian print media industry has grown at a healthy rate of 10.2 percent over the last five year and is projected to grow by 7.4 percent over the period 2009-2014 and is projected to reach an estimated Rs 230.5 billion in 2014 from the present estimate of Rs 161.5 billion in 2009. Shakespeare Society At Marwah Studios Moves Further

The high level meeting at Marwah Studios decided that it is now going to support Shakespeare Society created at the campus with the objective to highlight the works of Shakespeare, the moral values, the ethics and the ideology to the present World and generation far ahead. This Society is framed also with the objective- for the literary and spiritual awakening among the students and upholds the human values in them.
“We are very pleased by the response we have received from the students and the faculty members. We have planned a section of Shakespeare books, dramas and films in the library” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Chairperson of the Shakespeare Society. “We have now included Shakespeare dramas into our curriculum of one year acting program” Marwah added.
“I feel very strong when Dr. Ravindra Kurup Phd in Shakespeare and writer of many books including ‘Shakespeare And The Magical Vision’, ‘Ideology In Shakespeare’, ‘Shakespeare The Man’, ‘The Relevance Of Tragedy In Shakespeare’s Play’ has consented to be the secretary of the organization.” Sandeep Marwah informed.

Marwah Studios Multimedia Team At Pune With QBR CWG

PUNE: Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi Chairman Mr. Suresh Kalmadi, MP, led the welcome of the Queen’s Baton 2010 Delhi in his home town at a grand ceremony at the Bharati Vidyapeeth here on Thursday afternoon. A large crowd, feasting on music and dance, and a float advocating the message of sport greeted the baton.
The baton was then taken on an open jeep through the streets of Pune through Saras Bagh, Tilak Chowk, FC Road and Fergussan College. Fire dancers, sword fighters and sports lovers lined up the roads, cheering the baton and the batonbearers. The convoy reached Balewadi Sports Complex at 18:00 hours where the relay concluded.
The Pune Municipal Corporation hosted a reception where Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Mr. Ramesh Bagwe, PMC Leader of Opposition Aba Bagul, former India cricket captain Chandu Borde, hockey star Ajit Lakra, wrestling ace Harishchandra Birajdar, Davis Cup star Gaurav Natekar and others were present.
Seven-time National tennis champion Natekar said it was truly a memorable evening for him as it brought back memories of big events. The Baton finished the day at the Balewadi Sports Complex.
Earlier, Shivaji University Vice Chancellor Mr. MM Salunkhe flagged off the baton’s journey from Kolhapur. It was welcomed in Sangli with much fanfare, children waving the Tricolour. This was followed by another ceremony at Watha on the border of Satara district. A short relay was organised in Karad, including local officials, sportspeople and a large group of NCC cadets.
In Satara, a 5km relay followed the welcome. The people were excited and children had lined up along the streets, showering flowers and playing musical instruments. The relay concluded at the Satara Stadium from where the baton headed for Pune. En route, there were ceremonies at Gaurishankar Knowledge House, Vailatalenka and Shiral where the baton was garlanded by local officials and received by people with flowers and music.

“First of all I am must bow before my teachers who all have trained me to an extent that I could become teacher my self” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Director of Asian Education Group which has trained more than 8000 media professionals from 75 countries in the last 18years of education and has emerged as one of the finest institutions in the World for Film, Television and Media studies.
On this auspicious Teacher’s Day which We celebrate on 5th September, the birth anniversary of Dr Radhakrishnan, our former President, all over the country to honor and to express our nation’s gratitude to all teachers for their dedicated service to the nation, Asian Education Group also had a special meeting to address the faculty.

It’s like coming back home-Seema Biswas

The leading lady and the supporting actress of many films, Seema Biswas who started her first feature film Bandit Queen Phoolan Devi from Marwah Studios in 1993 with Shekhar Kapur as director, turned emotional while talking to the students of Asian Academy of Film And Television, school of performing arts and school of media studies in the master class when she said that “It’s like coming home after many years. I have remembered each and every wall of Marwah Studios where I had spent three months”
“I am proud that Seema Biswas has considered Marwah Studios as her first school of film acting. ‘Bandit Queen Phoolan Devi’ became one of the most popular Indian International Film.” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Director of Asian Education Group while appreciating the works of this lady and her achievements.
Answering to the questions Seema Biswas narrated many consequences of her life with real experiences to the students of acting who all were amazed with her talent. Her role in Khamoshi, Hazar Churasia ki maa, Bhoot, Ghaav, Company, Pinjar, Water were discussed in detail.
“Seema Biswas is a very sensitive actress and gets deeply into the character” said Satish Anand dean Acting highlighting her love for theatre. International Film And Television Research Centre Celebrates 18th year

International film and Television Research Centre was established in the year 1993 with the launching of premier film school AAFT at Noida Film city with the aim to provide complete support to the film and television education and training to the young aspirants of this country.
“With almost 18 years in education we have been able to attract students from 75 countries of the World, making our education centre the only one in India touching this number” said Sandeep Marwah president Marwah Studios and Chairperson of IFTRC.
The Research Centre has developed an excellent world class books library, a large collection of 2000 old and new classic feature films. IFTRC has its own publication department where a news letter, Asian News Journal, a daily news paper, a bi-monthly tabloid and coffee table books are published. More than 18 books are published on the different subjects on film and television training.
IFTRC has a wing where panel discussions, seminars, interaction programs are conducted time to time to prepare knowledge papers. “More than dozen researches have been conducted to reach to a stage where we can provide the information about how to make a better cinema.” Sandeep Marwah added.
IFTRC has Scholars, Film Makers, Educators, Politicians and people from all strata of life as its members. IFTRC is supported by other organizations like ICFF, IPBF, and IFTC.

International Film And Television Club Celebrates 18th Year

The International Film And Television Club of Marwah Studios was established by Sandeep Marwah in the year 1993 immediately after starting the first private film school Asian Academy of Film And Television of this country to support the film and television education at Noida Film City.
“The idea was to plan and design film and TV education and training in such a manner so that the students of this institute can relate themselves with the industry without much efforts” said Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and renowned international media personality who has achieved wonderful status in World media activities.
“We have completed 18 years in existence and conducted more than 500 events including Workshops, seminars, symposiums, interactions, industry interface, exhibitions, film festivals, talks, book releases, visits, joint ventures, discussions, car rallies, theater shows, film shows, star nights, premier shows, film conferences, melas and anything and everything related to Cinema and Television.” added Sandeep Marwah who has believed that media education is incomplete without media events.
