| Algeria’s Timeless Grandeur Reflected in a Striking Showcase by Neelam & Rajni Shukla at 10th Global Fashion & Design Week |
Noida, India: The majestic legacy and architectural brilliance of Algeria inspired a powerful and visually arresting collection by designers Neelam & Rajni Shukla at the prestigious 10th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2026, hosted at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida. The globally acclaimed event was organized in association with the AAFT School of Fashion and Design and the AAFT School of Interior Design, celebrating creativity, culture, and international collaboration.
Drawing from the ancient pyramids of Algeria, the collection showcased a commanding blend of history and modern sophistication. Sculptural silhouettes, fitted corsets, and strong, structured forms defined the aesthetic, creating a bold visual narrative rooted in architectural inspiration. Statement accessories further elevated the collection, reinforcing its distinctive identity and powerful presence on the runway. Each ensemble reflected strength, confidence, and timeless elegance—bringing to life the grandeur of Algerian heritage through a contemporary lens.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, AAFT, emphasized the role of fashion as a medium of cultural diplomacy, highlighting how such international platforms foster creative exchange and global unity.
The showcase was part of the vibrant celebration of Asian Unity Day on 2nd April, organized by the Asian Unity Alliance. The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) welcomed an esteemed gathering of dignitaries from India and across the world, including ambassadors, high commissioners, and diplomats, making the occasion truly global in spirit.
The collection, deeply influenced by the culture and historical richness of Algeria, was widely appreciated for its bold interpretation and artistic excellence. The event received strong support from the Indo Algeria Film and Cultural Forum of ICMEI, further strengthening cultural ties between India and Algeria through the creative arts.
This extraordinary presentation stood as a testament to the enduring power of fashion to narrate stories of heritage, strength, and innovation—bridging continents and cultures on a single, dynamic platform.
