Noida, India: Celebrating global culture and creative excellence, the AAFT School of Fashion and Design, in association with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, presented an extraordinary showcase during the 10th Global Fashion and Design Week at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.
Marking the occasion of Asian Unity Day, declared by the Asian Unity Alliance, Day 1 featured an impressive third show, Sequence 1, representing the rich cultural heritage of Georgia. The collection was designed by talented designer Ansi Malik.
The presentation was supported by the Indo Georgia Film and Cultural Forum, which played a vital role in research and conceptual development. Students of AAFT actively contributed to the showcase, managing ramp walk, modelling, makeup, jewellery, and hairstyling, demonstrating a comprehensive learning experience.
Inspired by the architectural grandeur of iconic Georgian landmarks such as Ananuri Fortress, Narikala Fortress, and Gremi Fortress, the collection beautifully translated history into haute couture. Structured silhouettes and corset forms reinterpreted traditional Georgian attire with modern draping techniques, while textured embellishments added depth and dimension. The designs reflected a harmonious balance of strength and softness, blending heritage with contemporary elegance.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of AAFT, appreciated the efforts of the young designers and students, stating, “Global Fashion and Design Week is a powerful platform to connect cultures through creativity. Showcasing Georgia’s rich heritage through fashion is a remarkable example of how design can transcend borders and bring nations closer.”
The show was widely applauded for its innovation, cultural depth, and professional execution, reinforcing AAFT’s commitment to nurturing global talent and promoting cultural diplomacy through fashion and design.
