Noida, India: Celebrating the richness of global heritage through contemporary design, the AAFT School of Fashion and Design, in collaboration with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, unveiled a powerful fashion sequence inspired by the cultural legacy of Sudan during Asian Unity Day on 2nd April. The presentation was part of the opening day of the Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2026 at Marwah Studios.
Showcased as Day 1 | 2nd Show | Sequence 7, the collection was created by designers Komal Sehrawat and Anjali, who drew inspiration from the ancient pyramids of Sudan—symbols of architectural brilliance and enduring history.
The collection stood out for its sculptural silhouettes, featuring structured forms and fitted corsets that conveyed strength and authority. Bold statement accessories complemented the designs, enhancing their dramatic and commanding appeal. By blending historical inspiration with modern luxury, the designers presented a line that embodied grandeur, resilience, and timeless sophistication.
The Indo Sudan Film and Cultural Forum played an instrumental role in bringing this concept to life. The research conducted at AAFT under the forum ensured that the essence of Sudan’s cultural heritage was thoughtfully and authentically represented on the runway.
Addressing the audience, Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI, Marwah Studios, and Chancellor of AAFT University, remarked:
“This collection is a striking interpretation of Sudan’s historic magnificence. The inspiration drawn from its ancient pyramids has been translated into bold, contemporary fashion that speaks of strength and elegance. Such presentations reflect our vision of promoting cultural dialogue and creative excellence on a global platform.”
The 10th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2026 continues to highlight international cultures through innovative design, reinforcing its reputation as a premier platform for emerging talent and cross-cultural exchange in the world of fashion.
