Fiji’s Earthy Elegance Meets Contemporary Edge in a Striking Showcase by Antara Ghosh at Global Fashion & Design Week Noida 2026

Noida, India: A powerful blend of heritage and modernity lit up the runway as designer Antara Ghosh unveiled a dynamic Fiji-inspired collection at Day 1, 2nd Show, Sequence 1 of the prestigious 10th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2026, held at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida. The globally celebrated event, organized in association with the AAFT School of Fashion and Design and the AAFT School of Interior Design, continues to champion cultural storytelling through innovative design.

Rooted in Fiji’s rich textile traditions, the collection delivered a bold visual narrative of craftsmanship and contemporary fashion. Intricate geometric patterns and artisanal detailing formed the backbone of the designs, while a palette of rust, deep browns, and monochromes echoed the natural landscapes of the island nation.

Structured co-ord sets, sharply tailored silhouettes, and fluid pleated skirts created a strong yet wearable aesthetic. Modern elements such as cropped layers, detailed paneling, and statement pockets injected a fresh, urban edge into the collection. The result was a seamless fusion—where heritage-inspired motifs met cutting-edge fashion with confidence and clarity.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, AAFT, emphasized that platforms like Global Fashion & Design Week serve as powerful bridges between cultures, nurturing creativity while promoting global unity through art and design.

The showcase was also part of the grand celebration of Asian Unity Day on 2nd April, organized by the Asian Unity Alliance. The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) hosted an esteemed gathering of ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats, and international guests, making the event a vibrant global confluence.

Deeply influenced by the culture of Fiji, the collection received widespread appreciation for its originality, craftsmanship, and contemporary appeal. The event was proudly supported by the Indo Fiji Film and Cultural Forum of ICMEI, further strengthening cultural ties and artistic collaboration between India and Fiji. With its bold patterns, grounded palette, and modern attitude, this showcase stood as a testament to fashion’s evolving identity—where tradition is not just preserved, but reimagined for a global, contemporary audience.
