Noida, India: The AAFT School of Fashion and Design, in association with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, presented a stunning fashion sequence inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Myanmar during Asian Unity Day on 2nd April, as part of the opening day of the Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2026 at Marwah Studios.
Featured as Day 1 | 2nd Show | Sequence 6, the collection was designed by Khushi Khan, who drew inspiration from the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda. The collection reinterpreted sacred beauty through the lens of modern luxury, offering a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary design.
Flowing gowns inspired by the traditional longyi echoed grace and fluidity, while intricate gold embroidery, lotus motifs, and temple-inspired geometry added layers of cultural depth and symbolism. A radiant palette of gold, ivory, and sunset hues beautifully captured the spiritual essence of Myanmar, reflecting devotion, strength, and timeless sophistication.
The Indo Myanmar Film and Cultural Forum played a pivotal role in presenting the program. Extensive research conducted at AAFT under the forum ensured authenticity and a deeper cultural connection within the collection.
Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI, Marwah Studios, and Chancellor of AAFT University, said:
“This collection is a magnificent tribute to the spiritual and cultural richness of Myanmar. Inspired by the Shwedagon Pagoda, it reflects how fashion can beautifully interpret heritage into contemporary expression. We are proud of the Indo Myanmar Film and Cultural Forum for its dedicated efforts in bringing such meaningful concepts to the global stage.”
The 10th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2026 continues to celebrate diversity, creativity, and international cultural exchange, offering a vibrant platform for emerging designers to showcase global inspirations through fashion.
