| Peru’s Vibrant Heritage Comes Alive in Aadhya Goel’s Collection at 10th Global Fashion & Design Week Noida |
Noida, India: The rich cultural tapestry of Peru was brilliantly showcased by designer Aadhya Goel during Day 1, 1st Show, Sequence 8 at the prestigious 10th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2026, held at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida. Organized in association with the AAFT School of Fashion and Design and the AAFT School of Interior Design, the event continues to serve as a global platform celebrating creativity, heritage, and innovation.
Drawing deep inspiration from Peru’s vibrant traditions and the legacy of the Inca civilization, the collection paid homage to the country’s rich craftsmanship and strong connection to nature. Intricate geometric patterns, reminiscent of traditional Peruvian textiles, were seamlessly blended with bold color palettes. Earthy tones harmonized with bright, lively hues—symbolizing the diverse landscapes of Peru, from majestic mountains to bustling local markets.
The use of natural fabrics, layered silhouettes, and handcrafted detailing reflected the essence of indigenous artistry, creating a powerful fusion of tradition and contemporary fashion. Each ensemble stood as a tribute to Peru’s cultural identity—timeless, expressive, and deeply rooted in heritage.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, AAFT, emphasized the significance of international platforms like Global Fashion & Design Week in promoting cultural exchange and creative unity among nations.
The showcase was also part of the grand celebration of Asian Unity Day on 2nd April, organized by the Asian Unity Alliance. The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) hosted a distinguished gathering of guests from across India and around the world, including ambassadors, high commissioners, and diplomats, reinforcing the global spirit of the event.
H.E. Javier Manuel Paulinich Velarde, Ambassador of Peru, highly appreciated the collection for its authentic and artistic representation of Peruvian culture. Mr. Descalzi, Cultural Counsellor, was also present on the occasion and lauded the designer’s efforts in beautifully capturing the essence of Peru through fashion.
The event was supported by the Indo Peru Film and Cultural Forum of ICMEI, further strengthening cultural ties and artistic collaboration between India and Peru. This remarkable showcase once again highlighted the power of fashion as a universal language—celebrating heritage, diversity, and global unity through design and creativity.
